UA Mystery thread 4 - The Canonn

I was wondering if there was something up with the spawns last night. I wasn't in confirmed systems but I was in the shell and I got nada.

Last I saw one would've been 12pm 26 Nov GMT (11pm my time). I have noticed the spawning has been erratic, sometimes not taking long, other times being almost instantaneous, but I've had issues lately so I just discount any variation as my internet on the fritz.

I think it's just "standard deviation" to be honest, but willing to be shown wrong on that front.

Last time I was unable to find any UA's for a long while, I think it turned out to be related to having pending missions on the logs. Might that be the case?

The systems I was checking were right on the 150 Ly edge, so I might not have even been in the shell. And I didn't really wait that long. I don't think it's time to panic yet.

Edit: found one in Hyades Sector EB-X c1-9, 146.84 Ly from Merope. It took a while though, probably been here 20 minutes.

Currently with a Free floater in Col 285 Sector MH-Q a7-1
was in Strong Signal source

Is it just me or does the icon on the left hand side for the Strong Signal Sources repeat quicker when it is a UA

Been listening to the things for the last 30 minutes
It is pointing at Merope and scanned me on arrive

Ship is Type 7

Need to do anything with it?

Idea

If the Unknown Artifacts, when confronted with a Lakon Type Series Ship, issue the Morse code of their current system location
& The Glow and the pointing towards Merope is a transmission of said data to targets unknown in Merope

Then should we bread crumb a UA back to Varati

It is 57 jumps on the economic setting from Col 285 Sector MH-Q a7-1 to Varati

I could pick up the UA at Col 285 Sector MH-Q a7-1 in my type 7, and drop it off at each of the 57 systems, letting it scan the system and transmit back to whom/whatever.
A jump by jump guide to Varati, and finally drop it outside the station when traffic is heavy so it can then transmit home that it has found a hub of human activity.

Thoughts?
Been done already?
A Bad Idea?

You may be on to something but I wouldn't waste to much time with an economic route. If what you say is true then the UA could be dropped in proximity of the station at your destination system and it would transmit data back from there. I wonder if that is what may have caused all the breakdowns with different stations.

Here are the T6 recordings, I am rubbish at decoding:

Good test.

I'm rubbish at decoding to, but they both clock in at 33sec. per loop. This is consistent with the station names.

Weyn Hub: .-- . -.-- -. / .... ..- -...

Bond Hub: -... --- -. -.. / .... ..- -...

These are very similar in duration.

33sec. also mach what I had at Weyn Hub in a T6 before the full scale break down.

Virtual +1

Well I was bored and filled with Turkey and Wine ... Happy Thanksgiving to you all !!

Played around with mapping the stations that are having malfunctions ....

Averaging a center point doesn't give anything nice - just randomly in Tascheter Sector ...

The UA is morseing the Station name in both recordings.
So nothing new, unfortunately: thanks for taking the time to do this test!
Asp Recording coming shortly. I just went to the the Weyn Dock, and a Pirate dropped out next to me. I jettisoned the UA so I could hide in the No Fire Zone, but it either the Pirate Rammed the UA, or the Station took it out in the cross fire.

Very nice and useful.

You put the same coordinates on Warky and Araware. Don't know which one is correct.

AHhh i blame the turkey ... :)

REvised .....

ya i hate transferring tables from excel ...

Arawere is a peculiar place for players to dump large amounts of UAs. Warky has always seemed odd to me as well.
The initial report from Warky was talking about UAs showing up in the system. This is in contrast to the first reports from the Ari systems, where the complaint was that commanders were bringing the artefacts there.

Are we looking at both player and NPC involvement in affecting stations?

I hope Jmains's secret station falls soon, so we at least get confirmation on the player effect.

Thanks.

Both recording seem similar. 40 and 45 sec lap times on both. I guess it's the Asp.
