Oh, this!
With absolutely no disrespect intended (though some will no doubt be taken), it's ALL about the community folks. This is not a mystery where you get to brag about how YOU were the one. It's about how WE solve each part as we get it through trial, error, patience and the sharing of ideas. I mean to say, over twenty players gave up nearly 11 hours of a recent Saturday to get hold of just two UP. And then what did they do? Gave one of them straight to Rizal. (A good move as it turns out). Do many of you know their names? Do many of you care? Do they turn up here bragging? Apart from me, no. But I'm just trying to make a point.

We can do this. I cannot.

yeh...yeh..right, but don't forget my cut of the profits, me an Rodders gotta eat ya know.

Been watching Preacher, can't help but think of poor Rodders when seeing one of the Government men.. ;)

Rodders will be ok when we find one a them dam U... thingies, gotta be worth a fortune down the local market.

Edit... ok...ok. i'll let the brainy geezers borrow it for a while first.

another edit...for a small fee. tee hee.

It could be to do with a generation ship , but it may not be a line back towards Earth. It may be a line back to the system the generation ship ended up in, and what we have in Merope is lost survey or scout ship belonging to said generation ship.:)

Or the Antares...people don't seriously think that was the real wreckage that was found, do they? That's why that other small unknown faction wanted us to turn the wreckage into them instead, they were on to something!

Absolutely, and no offense taken. But it isn't all about the community, there is a solo mode, or it would be. I'm just saying that anyone should be able to play the game from beginning to end, and currently that's not possible. Effectively you bought an incomplete game that was still being written and evolved, and now that I'm part of it, I love it, but the game doesn't reference these boards at all; I stumbled on them while looking for a reliable way to find barnacles. I don't want anyone to think I'm criticizing the game just because I'm dumb, but if it was all about the community, then the community should be a more central part of the game, either referenced or included in the actual game. Nonetheless, as I said, now that I found it, it has greatly enhanced my enjoyment of the game.

Wrong. The Antares was a hologram. There was not ship a that exploded. It's true, I read it on the internet.

Absolutely all of this.

looking at that spreadsheet for various tests. Has really nobody shot the thing yet? Shooting things is what we're good at.

All this audio spectrum stuff is great but I dont think it in any way is a required clue as to what to do next. if there is anything to do, it would be in the game where players can access it directly and not require them to leave the game and use external software to discover a key or integral clue.

"By supporting this initiative, you can help ensure that humankind is ideally positioned to meet the future – whatever it may hold."

Not sure if anything involving either the Federation or the Empire can be considered as "good" for mankind future...

it's pretty easy to know when you've found a one-time pad or a public key - they're BIG

we keep looking for codes in places where there's not enough data to be ANYTHING- like we're trying to decode 3 or 4 pulses of static into xyz coords in a galaxy, or lat-long on a planet, or step by step directions, or a system name when we only have enough bits for 1 or 2 letters or a number that goes up to 8 or something

We have a small code the evdiseer code. It could also be very small for the sake of simplicity. I'm just asking if anyone has tried that angle yet.

It seems I've scanned the planet mentioned in the new CG before. Hotter and with higher gravity than we've been checking for Barnacles so far:

I'm heading there now to check it out.
