i tell you what i did today after that post.
i went to merope and i went straight over it at 1234 ls from it.
there i stopped the ship and watched all around in search of some points ...
after 15 minutes i felt like a fool searching for the eldorado.
then i jumped away from merope, i begin to be sick of it.
honestly i don't know what to think.
Or this mistery is beyond our possibility and it's a very smart way to get us busy meanwhile
the contents are added to the game or maybe we will find something someday, but i bet it will be too late.
At this point i prefer to search an alien wreck.
I guess somebody should take a UP to a damaged station then. What colour sidey will you use then ??
Just an update on my hypothesis with the image i posted earlier. I believe the UP spectrogram is depicting Merope 6 getting eclipsed by Merope 5. Quadrant 2 depicts the single set of rings for M6, quadrant 3 depicts the two ring systems of M5, quadrandt 4 depicts the eclipse of Merope by M5 to M6. Quadrant 1 is a heading/vector. We will either find what we are looking for in M6s rings at that spot during that time, a USS on that side of the planet, or the location of "what we are looking for" will be revealed.
I'm going to introduce him to it. Also Nine Inch Nails and the FEZ soundtrack have a lot of spectrographic imagery in their songs. It's a neat way to reward fans.
It's also kind of why I think there is no real message that is decipherable in the UP image. I think the UP more an Easter Egg: the only message is "pay attention because something is coming up" that will end up kind of making sense in context after we stumble over the next clue. I am also fascinated and awed by all the work that has gone into these theories, many of them far exceeding my own skills, and by no means do I want the tinfoiling to stop. Ever. It's one of the best parts of the game.
In the meantime, I'm just trawling through nebulae and forums, looking for convoys, free floaters, and fresh ideas.

Can we agree that if the following are both true, it would be a huge co-incidence ?
1) The sonogram shows four binary digits; --1 -1- -11 and 1-- which we can translate as 001 010 011 and 100
2) The tuba binary sequence, if taken to be groups of 3 digits, never includes 000 or 111 and rarely 101 or 110. So is mostly 001 010 011 and 100.
I transcribed the Merope Up 6 Minute audio and got this;
110 010 010 011 010 011 011 001 011 010 101 001 100 100 110 011 001 010 011 010 010
Note the sequence starts with a rising series of tuba notes before it settles into the High/Low pattern.
Is there a central list of transposed binary tuba values that we can add to/compare with ?

i was thinking on similar lines, the eclipse happens tomorrow at around 19:00 give or take an hour, look at the top image http://imgur.com/a/EwlZA
ok i just double checked and its not quite an eclipse but but Merope star and M5 will be shining from the same direction.

What time zone is that? Im central time ( -6), so its difficult for me to keep up with everyone. Is it the time on the clock in the top right? Thats noon my time tomorrow. I may have to leave work at lunch and check it out. Or take my xbox and tv to work.
I feel like we may be on to something, because we know M5s orbit around the M5,M6 baricenter is so small its in the star, M6 may as well be a moon to M5 but its not. Both M6 and M5c are tidally locked, M6 to Merope and M5c to M5. Also, the giant impact crater on M5c and the reversed pole. This area of merope is all kinds of unusual, and with the mystery being "space based" this seems like a likely xandidate.

The way i go onto this problem/mystery is with the basic Logic of life itself. Over the time a race/culture will develop math and the other things BUT if they find out that something don´t work the way it should be it will be replaced with a newer/better thing.
To use this logic in space i looked at what would everyone (human, alien, robot, and what also fits here) do in space or by spacetravel to survie?

The points how to set this map over the galaxiy map that we have some ref points are needed. Maybe Sag. A. as the center and the strong blast sounds from the UP are showing us the other star that we need for the fix points to use this map. I´ve just watched some tv and there it was called out that each star has it´s own fingerprint. For me it look like as it is in the wave signal of the UP scan. BUT i don´t know how we could scan a star to get these fingerprints of the stars.

Where and How do we find the datas? Same here they could be in these soundblasts from the UP shown in the wave signal. I have a problem by the way the numbers 1-4 are used here. Most say it is an instruction 1. and than 2. and and and. BUT WHY are these numbers at the places they are? If you answer: mmh maybe the sender couldn´t make it better. Then it is for me clear as it could be that there is a reason for placeing them there. And on the other hand how would the sender do some writting IF they write in this way? I point that out because in mankind itself it evolved to a logic way of writting. Excample: as we do it here in the forum( from left to right and than the next line under these) or take a look at the Japan way of writting ( from top to down and than the next line on the right ( as far as i know it ) ) AND the way of writting a culture use is also used in the scince.

1. you have a close look on what do you have and what you need to get to your target. That brought me to the main resource(in my mind). The Engery the ship/spacecraft has.
2. The Engery is limited! So you can not waste them, you have to keep as much as possible to stay alive.
3. The thinking by starting these way brought me to my first and main question on the UP signal. WHY is the probe wasteing so much engery to these 3 blasts the send out? -> so there must be something in it or the signal themself is important. Because on the other hand the Prob would not follow the logic of life as i say.
