Volumes of Spheres in Merope
Rotations of Merope 5c with Merope 5
- Purpose: Determine the volumes and ratios of Merope 5c's crate in consideration to Merope 5 and Merope
- Outcome: Remains untested - Requires 3 pilot, had one
Mathematics used in ancient calendars via doubling: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16... etc
Binary Mathematics using Egyptian method of doubling to avoid multiplication
- Deliberate Bias: Assumed duplication wasn't used
- Purpose: To find out

Practical utilities of study:
- Determine if Merope 5c's eccentricity can be connected with those ideas that propose barnacles and/or sites within Merope have similarities to Newgrange.
- Note: This does not mean that aliens visited Newgrange
- Further note: The implication is that we have studied the stars with devices. If Merope was a some time colonized then there ought to be signs of such; even if they are unrecognizable to our expectations.

This was a process of determining both our expectations, by going through ancient to modern mathematics, astrophysics and astrodynamics as it relates to Merope in hopes of identifying things which don't fit those rules.

The UA shell appears to be centred and expanding from Merope, scanning ships, looking for ships...maybe its owners ships...Paul's ships...

The UP is looking for something, a place...idk...

Maybe the UA is outward bound looking for home, while the UP is inward bound looking for the missing Paul.

If the UP is inward bound, it's source may well be the locked nebula systems...so free floaters 'wild' UP might be somewhere between those locked systems and Merope...so only several thousand ly to cover...

I vote someone else goes searching.

Nope, understood loud and clear.

It's simply because people aren't looking elsewhere. Why would you when there's confirmed evidence that it occurs in that system or those nearby.

I honestly don't think anyone has given enough effort grinding the RNG elsewhere yet.... UA convoys appeared to have no real reason for where they appeared, same with the medical transports in threat 2 signals. I don't think UP convoys are any different in that regard.

LTT 1935 isn't "there in Ross 47" btw. It's just as Jmanis says. People haven't found then elsewhere yet, but we're slowly discovering new systems. I highly doubt there anything special with Ross 47.

We've been closely evaluating:
- Proximity to Sol / Siruis
- System state
- System size
- System economy
... as well as other factors.

Nothing which indicate that Ross 47 is special.

Just an interesting observation on educating Ed last night I noticed the UP Ed dropped was labelled a canister by the ships scanner...I thought it a bit odd for an unknown item.

UA's are marked the same, just picked one up in the shell.

@Dom and Han_zen: Ironically, just got to my usual system... a UA site spawned within 30 seconds of arriving at 37ls from the star... lol...

I think you may be in a to small volume. I usually go out to at least 600ls, before I turn. They spawn out to at least 1000ls in star only systems. I think that if you don't go into deep space, you are staying in the same USS zone the entire time.

About every third USS will be an UA.

I have a little trick I use. When I get a USS that is not an Anomaly, I still select it. I don't enter it. Just approach slowly. Often a 'twin USS' will spawn and chances are it's an UA.

I can't 100% confirm the 'twin USS' theory, but it works for me.

I confirm your trick, been using it since you mentioned 2 months ago for the first time.

Agreed that SOME system had to be the first place that they were found, and as soon as that happened it became the MAIN place that people would be looking for more. All of the 3 confirmed systems where UPs have been found (not sure if latest reported place, LTT 1935 iirc, has been confirmed yet) are "next door" to each other, which could be information in itself, or again, just that lots of people would be clustered in that area looking. I myself spent some time in Sol, which isn't too far away, to see if I could find any there, but found none -- which, sadly, proves nothing since we can't prove that they DON'T show up just because one didn't. (RNG and rarity and all that.)

If UPs, though, come from a particular place, area, or direction, then it would be logical to assume that convoys carrying them would be found between that place/area and wherever they're being taken (IF they're being taken someplace specific, which, let's face it, ANY government would do if they found something like this) which would hopefully produce UP-carrying convoys in a "line" of sorts between source and destination. Unless UPs are ALL AROUND US (!) in which case, the convoys could be anywhere. But, assuming UPs AREN'T out there in every direction, then it'd make sense to expect the convoys to be in an area basically between "here" (wherever they're being brought to... Sirius? Sol? etc.) and "there" -- wherever the UPs ... the free floaters... are. Sadly, I'm not in-game at the moment, but is LTT 1935 "near" Ross 47 and the other confirmed UP-convoy systems, or if it is further away, then I'd say the best place to focus search (in addition to continued looking in known places) for convoys would be BETWEEN the two areas, and the best place to look for free floaters would be in a line outwards between the known points.

Of course, if LTT 1935 is still just right near the others like Ross 47, then we have no real "line" or direction yet. :-/ Wish I was in-game to help with all this UP hunting!
