I just saw it with my own eyes...

It looks very Hr Giger... I love it !

One of my issues with many science fiction worlds is how human all the alien ships look , this however so far looks very alien and somewhat scary.
Kudos art team.

There is a piece missing :)

It looks like the pilot (if there is one) ejected - the central circle looks cut off - all other surfaces are curved, but this is level - looking side on to the circle

it appears to be cut or broken off. The inside of the circle looks.. messy compared to the other parts.

I also count three legs, but a fourth may be underneath? And four wings?

Crash site to scale with Asp Explorer 350m behind

Also: On a first scan through of the wreckage there are no obvious signs of burns from laser or plasma fire, and no holes from kinetic weapons or explosives. Pilot error?

i know this is immersion breaking but im very puzzled by this picture. the crash has to been a very slow moving one.. yet such a crash shouldnt of broken arms of this ship and placed them around it in a near vicinity, ive seen worse debris from SRV crashes.. was this a last minute art addon or something? the crash if high speed would of thrown debris all over the place on such a low grav planet.

dont mention the artwork looking like it was drawn on a napkin whatever you do..

Nice pic Patau82. Soon it will be turned into a SRV racing course with CMR's using the ''eye'' as a jump. See there is a use to it, it is a activity playground.

So this ended up pretty great in the end, then. The 28th didn't exactly come off without a hitch but the rest of it was a lot of fun and thanks to the very lucrative CGs it felt rewarding for all even if you didn't get to meet one of the pilots or be first on the crash site.

I *may* have been first there on Xbox, no idea if there was anyone there before me, but it was huge fun to follow along and to be one of the first few to arrive even if I didn't manage an actual first at anything. Big congrats to the CMDR who made the find.

Right, I'm off to haul some baccy and dodge griefers. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

Thats the thing, it looks like an "unmanned" bioship. not thargoid. just because it has 8 sides everyone assumes its thargoid.. what if its a living creature like some kind of space starfish. Its not giving off any reading on the scanner and isnt targettable, has no obvious life quarters and i couldnt see any propulsion drives.

Sorry to break everyone's immersion...they look like they have tweaked the design, same as they did with the FDL, which looks nothing like the original 1984 version.
This, however, has all the elements of a thargoid ship, with a very organic vibe.
As it is supposed to be alien, it goes without saying that you wouldn't recognise drives or anything else.
As David Braben would say "this is all very exciting! " :)

Patreus knew it was there.

He is throwing money at building cap ships.

He is panicking, Salome knew as well hence why she was captured.

On my way from the rift last week i headed to the Pleiades nebula and i passed one jump away from its location.

I think this came from the rift......
