Remember the UP spectrogram image?

As I understand it, we puzzled and puzzled and puzzled over this, with no joy. Then the free-floating UPs came along with their morse-type sounds to distract people away, followed by the exciting treasure hunt. Since then it's been lying, unloved and un-decoded, in the back of the Canonn store room.
Now things have settled down again I have some theorising and results to present. It may be completely wrong, or it may be the starting point to new discoveries. Hopefully, with the application of some science (this is where you come in), its secrets may finally be revealed. So here we go.......
I've always thought that the images at either end appeared to be two views of the same thing, seen from positions horizontally separated by a smallish angle.

At first I thought it was a view of the galaxy map, but the UP already points us directly to a planet, Merope 5c, so why not start there? So I set out to explore its big obvious feature, the crater, to see if the views were showing a surface feature. After many, many hours and days of fruitless surveying with my long suffering friend Cmdr Frog's Friend's Evil Twin we were ready to give up. At that point I took a casual flight around the planet and back to the crater, coming to land on the crater rim looking in. There in front of me was the feature I'd been looking for

From there I flew to the right to find the second view.
Left View:
The separation angle of the two views made me think of the two lines on the circle image, lower left corner. So I marked up a drawing and tried to overlay it onto a screenshot of the crater. Matching the circle to the whole crater didn't give good results with the viewing angles or the centre point, so I played with the scale of the circle, reducing it to try and get a match. The best result appeared to be about 60% or 3/5ths of the crater size. Is this what the |-- --| symbols under the circle mean? 3 out of five?

From there I wondered where the System/Spaceship diagram, to the left of the circle, could fit in?

Is it showing a flight path leading to a crash/landing? What if the dots were craters or other landmarks? The arcs could be crater rims?
Again I tried overlaying it onto the screenshot at various positions and angles to see if there was a reasonable looking fit. The obvious one was to lay it along the radius line. It didn't fit any landmarks along the line but did in the opposite direction, looking in along the radius line.
So, there we have it. Is this just craziness or is it science? Hopefully some of you clever people can look this over and see if it makes sense.... or where I've gone hopelessly wrong

I've not managed to locate whatever this diagram may be pointing to, but the sun is up in the crater today and it's a good day for searching.
I've uploaded an SVG file (made in Inkscape) of all the images and drawings so anyone can play around with it. You can move, rotate, scale or position the various elements to see if you can produce a better result.
