I'm on xbox and its extremely regular.
Two noteable causes.
Cap ship above barnacle merope 2a
Also when dropping from OC.
And lastly extreme Lag on surfaces and when entering system or galaxy map.
Dare I say near unplayable

Sorry, I missed that post. Any outcome from trying following them? nothing?
Same crash to desktop today while going inside the cap ship. PC here, Report sent. After log in again, my ship appeared landed about two kilometers above surface, and with another commander who was with me before the crash frozen in place and not responding to hails.
We are getting loads of Capital Ship Detected alerts and CTDs. We think we are onto something but could be bug or just a really huge area to cover.

Something is going on on Merope 2A, even more than a Cap ship frottaging its underside against a Barnacle

Falling through the ground on logging into a scarab is also a thing.

Youre gonna find this interesting, so sit back and relax, grab a biscuit and have a read.
When I relogged at first the Farrugut cruiser was surrounded by federal system authority, I previously had gained rank with them so they are friendly toward me and did not attack. However they did scan my cargo hold (which was empty at the time) but made no move against me.
I then Set off to retrieve the Aritfact. Upon returning to Merope 2A with the unknown Artifact in my hold I noticed the Capital ship had no fighters surrounding it, so I landed and relogged to spawn them in.
Once they spawned, I took off in the hopes that they would scan me. They did. I waited around for a response in chat. None came. Until...
All of a sudden the screen was filled with laser fire, I switched to my chat panel to see the system security saying "We got reds on the radar" however I had bigger things to worry about. My shields were rapidly stripped as what seemed to be over 4-7 ships firing at me simultaneously. My eyes widened in terror as my hull was being stripped almost as fast as my shields, I frantically boosted away. Too frantically. I slammed into the ground, my anaconda exploding, leaving no trace of me or my unknown cargo.
Again I can upload the video if anybody is curious, just say the word and I will upload. Allow me 24 hours to compile and upload.

Um... Guys? I just got wasted by the capital ship "Vanguard" it sicked it's fighter squadron on us! They said something like:
"Contact in sight! All wings fall in."
*Everything green turns red*
"Copy Lead, all units formation Delta! Contain! Contain!"
*Me and my pal proceed to get vaporized*
"Contact in sight! All wings fall in."

If you see your ship/srv below ground when logging in the game, log off back to mainmenu quickly and try again. So far it has worked for me.
That happens if you get to close to the capital ship. Or stay near it for so long.

If unknown probes take out stations... whats to say we cant place an unknown artefact inside the capital ship?
Yes that happened to me as well. I believe it happens when there is a small hill just below the ship when you land. Also I am getting constant artefacts when i am flying around planet side. Small black and white dots and figures on the ground and when i get closer they disappear. This makes searching for Barnacles really hard, because every 5 seconds i see something on the ground and I need to stare at my screen from up-close to see if its an actual object or just a glitch. I don't know if I am the only one experiencing this but its really bad.

I also observed a very interesting behavior during my visit today. When logging in after a crash to desktop, a commander who was inside the cap ship before the crash was still here and had become hostile to the ship. And... well, the fighter escort did this...
If this is not a First Law/Second Law conflict, i haven't seen one... sorry for the fps drop, my gpu was overloaded.

Well, I noticed one difference between your encounter and mine.
I had an unknown Artifact in my hold, I was only idling for about a minute when the Feds attacked me. They only scanned me once, whereas they scanned you thrice and made no attempt to detain you.
Does this his mean they reacted to the Artifact? Mr Michael Brookes if you are still there would it be possible for you to confirm if this mechanic is present in the game at the moment? (or I will have to believe I lost 7mil in vain).
