Hoping to get some help, if possible, with the issue I've been facing trying to play ED. I've searched all over but all the threads I see are 2-3 years old. Which makes me wonder why this issue still exists? I bought the game about 7 years ago and recently tried playing it again. I will try to explain.
I own the game on steam. When I launch, the following window pops up. The game is fully updated on Steam. I've tried re-installing and verifying the files. No success.
I read on other forums about launching the game with "EDLaunch.exe" in the directory. I get prompted to log in but am face with the following issue.
I have a Frontier account and have linked my Steam account to it. Still, none of the above work. I figured I'd have to redeem my CD key, but when I try that using the Frontier website as well as the page they state you can use if the game had been purchased years ago. I get the following errors each time:
Feels crazy that there are people who own this game who are fully unable to play it. Based on forums here and on steam there are a ton. Is there any way around this issue? Any help is appreciated!
