Unbalanced firepower

I defended myself from a CMDR who attacked me with an SRV Scorpion. I flew up in my Federal Corvette and started shooting him with all weapons (Engineered Multicannon and Beam Laser), after several minutes his shield was down by only 50%. This is unlikely, it makes no sense, a very powerful ship failing to destroy an SRV. Bah!!!!
 
ok, but it's unlikely to destroy a flying Anaconda in 30 seconds and only do 50% damage to a grounded SRV in 5 minutes

There is a huge disproportion between ship and on-foot damage. I wont comment on that.

But,
Anaconda, big ship, the srv cannot miss it and the Scorpion does a lot of damage. I would assume that your Anaconda also has crap shields
SRV small target, you missed it for like 99% of the time
 
You have to hit it first and merely being in a Corvette is by itself no measure of damage output. Missiles/plasma accelerators, for example would have been more appropriate for this as many other weapons require a direct hit, including multicannons and beams and that's not easy to do.

Skill issue.
 
attacknig ground targets usually favour small ships with good fixed weapons convergence and good thruster acceleration, you can do everything in corvette, but ody content and a lot of old horizons content, like scans and attack on power grids is much more efficient in vipers and cobras alike, also advanced missile racks can turn any small ship into formidable bomber. Even simple tasks like turning in SC, landings and takeofs takes way more time in big ships

I used to shoot MetaAlloys from a cutter, and the pillars are smaller than the SRV.
Large ships are good too...
