Another long and probably silly shot....someone recently recorded a flute version of the background noise? I suggest we play that to lots of people from various fields of music and see if anyone recognizes it. For instance - it could be the part of the theme from some well known classical piece? If it was from something with a name like "the blue danube".........

By the way, the "Moby " theory and all the hints in the trailer, must be taken in account. So some kind of test should be done. there is a New California in Epsilon Eridani, very very near to Altair, an easy zone.

The hidden MORSE that I can hear in the Background sound of the UA, is always there, and I can hear it without any sound manipulation or software help. Just listening to the UA and I distinguish it very well. BTW I'm too used to it.
I'm still trying to find a meaning to it, because it's really fast, but I am almost sure that there is a system name in it. Right now it is HEL 8 (.... . .-.. ---..), but I am not so sure still.
I'm going on in my spare time, just to be TOTALLY SURE it is not a code, but just a simple BG sound with no meaning.

Heh it's this =)

Rizal found a noise he thinks is morse, I couldn;t get morse from it, it seemed more to be musical notes, so I made a flute rendition of it! (I am not a musician)

Thanks for that - it sounds like it *should* be from a well known piece of music - but I can't place it - Music is one of my key interests and has been for 50 years (yes I'm old) That piece has the feel of something that has been composed rather than just a random selection of notes - but I could easily be fooling myself. It almost sounds like a hunting horn sequence as a prelude to something....dunno...

Well this is the original recording, mine might be an interpretation so possibly sounds more "composed", you probably have a better ear than me.

The "notes" are well in the background, really hard to make out, I think you need headphones.

It's that background whine almost like maybe an ice cream van.

The note sequence I think repeats ~3.5 times, the recording starts when it's already halfway though.

There are 11 notes, if perhaps I was missing a twelfth then it'd be 3 sets of 4.

Just got blown away by a CMDR at Shinrarta Dezhra.
I was already heavily damaged from UA decay, and shield generator was turned off to power the AFMU.
I got hit by what I think was a rail gun 4 times.

Sorry folks, we're back down to 1 UA.

Cool. I can hear that quite clearly. To me that is NOT random noise. I think I get slightly different notes.... CECD~CDCDCG~E it depend where you start of course. The squiggly lines indicate double length notes. I get 4 repeats exactly (with a little bit of doubt on the first couple of notes)

I'm more put out about losing Branch's UA than anything else. It wasn't mine to lose.
Losing the ship was no problem at all. I've got more than enough to cover it.

In the meantime, here's a clip I made of the UA inside the icy rings of Vulcan in the system LHS 3006 a couple of nights ago.

Yes, interdiction. It was flickering like mad so I had no option but to submit and boost.
No talk. Just started shooting while I was boosting away.

I plugged the notes I got into a tune finding utility on google and got one only result [h=3]Alborada [/h]Sorry - the caps are from the copy paste.

Is there such a system?

I think I've heard that CMDR name before, Goonsquad, I'm not sure though.

Well... hmm... I would have stuck to solo, especially flying shieldless with a UA. But, alas, hindsight is 20/20

It apears as though its time I fired up my conda and log back into elite for the first time in ages. Hopefully I can spend the weekend joining the hunt.

This clip was recorded earlier this evening at Wredguia WT-I d9-51, 11ly from Polaris.
Nothing unusual to report, nor were there any changes in sound from what we usually get.
