Well.... if it wasn't for the fact that most designs in the workshop have hundreds, if not thousands, of individual pieces in them.... which even if one of those items was a microtransaction item, the blueprint is now locked until i buy that item. The thought that scares me is that unlike previous games in this genre, this game mixes and matches everything. A blueprint won't usually JUST be fairytale items, it will include objects from everything because that one corner in the garden may need this pirate stone to make it look good. From the game designers standpoint this is genious because it will make everyone buy every single DLC to make most workshop items work. People like silvarett will add items that include a whole bunch of DLC peices. But as a person who doesn't want to buy 20 $3 items to make a blueprint work... this scares me.
I was hoping the DLC items would all be things that the base game would have alternatives for so that when you download a blueprint and don't own the DLC content, it would revert to something else. Such as coaster train car themes, so if they have a space car theme for the boomerang coaster and you don't have the DLC content, the game would automatically revert to the vanilla car. Same with paths and walls/roofs so on.... haveing a vanilla backup for people who still like the blueprint design. The way it looks right now seems to be that most of the content post-DLC release will not work unless I have the DLC's as well... and if we are going that route I'd just like a nice decently priced expantion pack DLC with all the items (not micro-dlc's). We all know the individually priced content will add up to way more than what an expansion pack would cost... and make a spiderweb of content people don't have and thus causing them to not be able to use other peoples parks or blueprints.
