Update 11: let the complaints begin....

Ok so I get home to my fleet carrier and start my wandering around finally ending up at my commander's chair
Sit down... side screen swings around....
And I cant interact with it.... what an ideal spot to put the fleet carrier console.....

Use the radial menu thing to open Carrier Management. I believe if you're inside the Carrier you'll also get the orbit camera.

I like sitting down!

Use the radial menu thing to open Carrier Management.

Pointed both of these out to Bruce in my suggestion post, that I linked to him on twitter, he confirmed they're looking into the access for the radial menu and they are looking into making that swing arm table useful.

My thoughts so far about update 11 specifically regarding fleet carriers

The bad
1. The crew avatars have all been replaced, and new outfits and faces are no longer random and boring.
2. The flight deck crew are mutes, they don't chat, I think the cat got their tongue.
3. Jump timers have increased to 30 minutes.
4. The fact that you are forced to sit while jumping is lame. It even kicks you out of the 3rd person's camera.
5. When jumping, even if you are already sitting, it teleports you to the main deck chair. You wouldn't want to be hosting a party in the VIP room.
6. Swapping interior livery requires that you relog.
7. The fleet carrier administration filter is still bugged in the galaxy map and does not appear.
8. apparently, it is illegal to talk to a bartender while sitting on a stool at the bar in the year 3308.

The good
1. The new jump effect is pretty cool.
2. nice to walk around in our own ship, even though it's a big ship.
3. seats I don't know what to make out of it, great we can sit now.

Wish list
1. Fix Tritium refuelling, so I don't need to get into a ship to refuel (can I sack my tritium depot crew they have never done a days job in their life)
2. Add a way to plot routes

I was thinking exactly the same..

Also, that big pad on the desk of the "crew quarters" can serve that purpose.

And now that we have npc around... Where is my SLF pilot hiding?? I told her she won't get perma kill any longer.. She still traumatized from that experience and won't come out...

2. The flight deck crew are mutes, they don't chat, I think the cat got their tongue.
I've heard them chat amongst themselves as I've been passing by but there's not much interaction, you hear it more off the command deck.
3. Jump timers have increased to 30 minutes.
Fdev explained this by everyone jumping their carriers around has put increased load on the server, this is a server survival response to increase the times so we can continue to have stable servers. I had a Jump time of 15 minutes the first time, 25 minutes the second time. It's usually all based on player traffic or carrier traffic within the area. There's a few spots about 1400ly out where I randomly get failed jumps and increased timers before this, but I'll have to check that patch of sky out again.
4. The fact that you are forced to sit while jumping is lame. It even kicks you out of the 3rd person's camera.
So you want to go splat against the wall is what you're saying? The Third person camera shutting down is a default thing, and is probably apart of the code for jumping.
5. When jumping, even if you are already sitting, it teleports you to the main deck chair. You wouldn't want to be hosting a party in the VIP room.
Go post this one in the suggestions, I hadn't seen this one yet I did see the warning about getting to the command chair, but didn't see anything else regarding that.
6. Swapping interior livery requires that you relog.
That didn't happen on mine? I swapped mine to extraction and it did it without a relog for me. If that's happening to you then I'd say you need to bug report that and then post the issue tracker here, and we can all vote it if you have the evidence on it so that Fdev can see how it occurs.
7. The fleet carrier administration filter is still bugged in the galaxy map and does not appear.
That is something that def needs to be addressed, I usually just keep the list of systems that have FCA's in them close by so I can copy and paste the closest one to me.
8. apparently, it is illegal to talk to a bartender while sitting on a stool at the bar in the year 3308.
More voice acting money!? I would love this, but the bartender would just have a certain amount of lines and we'd max them out pretty quick I feel which would make this repetitive.
Wish list

You could set a buy order up, the thing with carriers is originally they were supposed to be end game items for players, massive credit sinks and a small time sink. I can usually get 161 tons of Trit in under 45 minutes with a python sometime less depending on if I get lucky, then again I also hunt SSD's (Sub Surface Deposits).
2. Add a way to plot routes
This would be great, for now you can use https://www.spansh.co.uk/fleet-carrier it helps plot your stuff for ya then you just enter the locations. I think they're making us be on for plotting a jump since the Captain orders the ship to depart and move.

Yep, the lamo crew jumpsuits are the worst part for me. I feel like I'm walking around a low budget scifi set. 😅I bet there will be some cosmetics for prettier uniforms in the future....

Yeah just realized you can't do it... I swear I was able to earlier today.

I must be def I'm talking about the crew who sit in the the flight deck just in front of the captains chair.

Not really an excuse, can you imagine if you were playing WOW and all fight times doubled/tripled cause Blizzard could not support their player base numbers.

Maybe I will.

Happened to me and my friend and many peeps also on YouTube. I guess you are lucky. To be clear, I'm suggesting that you don't see any changes in the concourse until you relog.

Sorry I should have been more clear I'm NOT talking about voice acting. I'm stating the fact. If you sit on a chair right next to the bartender you can not interact with them. It only works while standing.

Yes I use this all the time. While it's fantastic, It is a third party solution and not in-game route plotting rather a list of what to plot to. Since fleet carriers are not actually flown, I'm suggesting more of an automated jumping sequence.

So you want to go splat against the wall is what you're saying? The Third person camera shutting down is a default thing, and is probably apart of the code for jumping.
Do you watch Sci-fi Star Trek?, Star Wars? Anything really?

I do understand that Elite tries to be scientifically accurate on some levels, though Faster Than Light Speed, is not one of them. Hell even in space balls at ludicrous speed Rick Monranis is standing and survived LOL.

BTW if you want to be that logical, then siting or standing would still mean your demies. G-force is G-force regardless of where you plant your backside.

The carrier concourse is completely superfluous and without any functionality for the way I play the game (except Vista Genomics).
What an utter waste of resources and development time...
The irony here is FDev explicitly refuse to do ship interiors because "they would be boring and useless," and then turn around and make Fleet Carrier interiors which are boring and largely useless.

I still think that was just Arthur in a moment of unguarded exasperation and exhaustion while they were still hustling to get a very unseaworthy Odyssey to float. I think ship interiors will be back on the cards once the team has regrouped, post-console and launch fiasco.

I mean, I really want to hope so. I just haven't exactly been given much reason to be hopeful lately. Surely that's an understandable sentiment?
