You can fire them any time you want!
Any time?
I tried to fire my deck officer after she scheduled a jump to a system under the cursor when I scrolled the map, and then refused to cancel or redirect it after about two dozen attempts during the countdown, and then actually jumped to the wrong system.
When I hit replace, nothing happened. I assumed I needed to be in an admin system. By the time I actually had cause to visit one I'd calmed down and let her stay.
Or was that just elite being elite, and Tue same bug preventing me canceling a jump also prevented me cycling crew?

On the topic of U11, I'd just been assuming it was coming the day after Bridge P4w4, so 10th March. So this is two days early for me.

Greetings Commanders

This is a brief post to let you know that the release of Update 11 has been moved to the 8th of March. This will allow the development team more time to properly prepare content such as Fleet Carrier interiors and include other fixes.

The new release date is subject to change, however if it does we will let you know in advance.

I missed something.... This is the first I've heard about update 11 at all.... when/where was U11 announced? And can we please have on-foot VR???????

So you thought Big Game Hunting in the game was a "promise"?
You can hunt people down in game already, so why not animals? Are you not expecting animals on earth like worlds?

I’m still expecting Frontier to deliver on features used to extract money, whether they deliver or not is up to them.

It would need a different approach to what they are doing at the moment, but it's not an uncommon thing to be able to do in games, the fact that nearly all bio at the moment is indestructible is a pity but that's the way they have decided to go at this stage. So if they get to the stage of animals on planets yes I would expect that to be possible.

How much poop would you be ok with in your brownies?

Not sure. It's ancient history though, it didn't say anywhere your carrier is a permanent memoral to you in game and also creates a gameplay mechanic. There are enough profit making carriers out there to demonstrate that.

Activites like either combat, exploration or trade? Things that you do anyway, when you play the game?

What would be ludicrous would be to remove the mechanism for culling carriers belonging to people who no longer play, carriers that only serve to block all available orbits in interesting systems. Upkeep is tiny anyway but they do eventually time out.
I'm pretty stoic when it comes to the FC fees, just as I was to docking fees. It's a game and these resource drains are part of the gameplay

But if those FC fees are there to cull abandoned fleet carriers then that's a pretty useless mechanic. Folks preload their FCs with billions of credits so they don't have to worry about the weekly fees

Why do people have to have several pairs of shoes when they only have two feet? It isn't a matter of need.

A colleague I worked with kept 3 pairs of shoes under her desk at work in addition to the shoes she wore to come to work.

I once asked her whether she grew extra legs during the day.

FC interiors are for Odyssey only, right?

My guess is, all FCs will have interiors. Only those with Odyssey will be able to enter the interiors. There might be a function for people to enable/disable entry to the interiors. I guess people who have FCs that don't have Odyssey could be in the funny situation of having to watch jumps from the hangar while others on board could watch it from inside.

It might encourage a few people to upgrade to Odyssey... cunningly played FD!

Maybe we horizons guys get seated-only bridge view :D

My opinion is my opinion. I don't like the upkeep. No amount of berating me is going to change my opinion.
You are, of course, 100% correct, in that you would not tolerate upkeep on a FC.
Likewise, as they are optional content, you have no need (nor intention, I'd guess) to purchase one.

Why bother with the same old complaint when against an activity you have no intention of participating in? Opinion or not? It seems to me, as an outside observer to the 'debate', that the topic is worn out and may as well be consigned to obscurity as there is no agreement, nor compromise, to be had.

I have 3 FCs, I play the game, the upkeep doesn't 'force' me to do things I have no interest in, and each day of play normally increases the amount of credits 'banked' by much more than the amount needed to run them.

If you need to walk there, I don't think you won't able to do without Odyssey.
Maybe the internal view while jumping.
But it's just speculation now.
That wasn't my question.

As a console player, I get that I wont be able to walk on my own fleet carrier (for a while). However, as Fleet Carriers are cross platform, will I be able to chose the internal configuration of the Fleet Carrier for those on PC that can see it?
I can currently buy Fleet Carrier paint jobs and tailor certain graphics (FC type, FC name) as it is seen.

Are FC interiors also reconfigurable? (and can I change them as a Console Carrier Commander?)

Possibly the only way to answer that sensibly is to wait for FC interiors to be in game - then wait (if needed) for cosmetics for them to be introduced into the Arx store. (as colours etc. were mentioned, we might assume they are paid rather than free)

An interesting question, I must confess. (I have tried clipping into the FC 'interior bay' with EDH and it just doesn't work for me!)

Depends.
Obviously that only the Odyssey players can Disembark
But it remains to be seen if a Horizons Player's Carrier will provide interiors for an Odyssey player.

For example, It will be interesting to see if my Steam/Epic accounts will be able to disembark in my XBox account Carrier.

Edit:
there is also possible that Disembark will be a setting similar to Dock permission (Players can set Dock permissions to anyone, friends, squadron, none)
And Horizons players will not be able to enable/set Disembark permissions for their Carriers and the Disembark will not be possible at such carriers.
