I decided to begrudgingly jump back in when it's all we have on consoles (while I've no interest in playing Elite or basically any other games on PC and on intention of buying a PC good enough to run it well, even IF I did want to)...Define "alive". Is anyone still playing it?
For myself my console carriers have returned to the Bubble with about half a decade of upkeep each.Define "alive". Is anyone still playing it?

I hope so. But I'm afraid after all Odyssey mess FDevs will be unable to meet quality requirements for consoles. (I bet it was main obstacle on this road).I decided to begrudgingly jump back in when it's all we have on consoles (while I've no interest in playing Elite or basically any other games on PC and on intention of buying a PC good enough to run it well, even IF I did want to)...
Of course (as I've said many places), I wish that Frontier would and still hope that they will release the game in full on "next gen" consoles, while adding everything they can to "last gen" consoles.
And while there's literally nothing new in it other than a "legacy" mode tag on the top of the normal unchanged mode select screen and of course, I'm very disappointed that we won't be part of CGs and Galnet anymore (would it kill them to give us, "legacy" specific CGs and Galnet?!)...
At the end of the day, it's just normal "old" Elite Dangerous and it's still playing just as well as it always did and I still have much to do in it, I still have several engineers to unlock and rank up, many ships to engineer, the Imperial Cutter still to unlock and many ships I either never bought or haven't touched in years, while basically the only ship I've ever engineered is my Anaconda main ship, which I'm still working on - when I finally unlock all the "bubble" engineers, and do whatever engineering I can, I'll finally make my first trip to Colonia and start working on the engineers out there...
THEN when my ship is the best I can make it, I think I'll finally brave Open play - if the PS4 and possible PS5 servers are still up by then!!...
Of course too, it'd be great to get ANY new content in "legacy" mode, even IF they "only" gave us the Scorpion SRV (which was wrongly available to buy and equip at Jameson Memorial recently, - and indeed that seems to be one tiny change the patch made, removing it from Jameson now, though some people still have them installed on their ships, but you can't actually deploy it!), or if they finally let everybody buy the Cobra mark IV (which NPCs can fly on PS4, but we can't
)...
But all in, I still have lots to do in the game, but as said many times, some new toys would be nice and maybe, just maybe we'll get to play with the whole toy box again on some wonderful day in the future.
So Horizons 3.8 better you think? And I have Odyssey, and my PC can handle it.
I still think Frontier were being way too strict about what was acceptable for Odyssey's performance on consoles - it's really strange that they never released any videos or had any public alphas or betas so we could decide for ourselves whether it was good enough or not!I hope so. But I'm afraid after all Odyssey mess FDevs will be unable to meet quality requirements for consoles. (I bet it was main obstacle on this road).
My upgrade was surprisingly seamless on Steam, but new war narrative is not my flavor... so I stay here in deep space exploration on good old EDH 3.8. At least until plug will be pulled for good. o7 folks.
Have you reported them on the Issues Tracker? or added to another one?I really love this game, and I've played nearly 200 hours in the last month and it's been glorious (on Horizon 4.0 of course) but since yesterday's update I have to force quit the game with task manager because I'm stuck in FSD and the game is so glitchy it's almost unplayable. This makes me really sad... is the team aware of some of these issues and are they being addressed?
I think the next transfer won't be as nice as the one you missed...Thanks for the quick reply. Feeling sad, had over 500-600 hours grinding for space money, engineers, fleet carrier and reps. Hope ships, credits, engineers, reps and materials are atleast carried over because cant do all that grinding again. Until then back to star citizen![]()
Yes. After "split" they are two separate independent profiles. I consider same step - reset Live profile because I not plan use it. War mess is just not for me.Just wondering, with the new Legacy vs. Live modes, the progress is tracked separately right? If so, can I reset my progress on Live while keeping my old progress on Legacy?
if you are planning on not using it, why reset it? (in spite of yourself?) maybe you will be curious in the future and if you still have it you won't be staring over. it just seems oddYes. Just for cleaning stuff from Live universe. Better than leaving tons of space crap somewhere.if you are planning on not using it, why reset it? (in spite of yourself?) maybe you will be curious in the future and if you still have it you won't be staring over. it just seems odd
say no more, i have had games like this before. In Live thing drifts away from my expectances.
Is this a semi-quit post?Logged in this morning only to decommission my carrier. Worked fine. Now I won't ever visit it again, even though I'm now a billionaire once more.
Not the first time I will be in the less than most category; I plan to at least maintain funds in my carrier's bank in the Legacy universe. We don't expect every (or even most) players to choose maintaining and progressing profiles on both modes. But if you want to, the option is there!
