So... what is "Horizons mode" supposed to be? Is it today's Horizons 4.0?
If so, will there finally be instancing between the two?

I can neither confirm nor deny an incoming swirly octo apocalypse.More ominously:
"some players having fond memories of 3.8s galaxy"
I have to ask.....is legacy mode a lifeboat from the swirly octo apocalypse currently skipping towards us all?
Whilst there will be no new narrative content such as GalNet or Community Goals, you will still be able to affect the galaxy via the background simulation. Actions in Legacy Mode will not affect the Live game.
incoming swirly octo apocalypse confirmed!I can neither confirm nor deny an incoming swirly octo apocalypse.
So, that's a "YES!" then...I can neither confirm nor deny an incoming swirly octo apocalypse.
Just unconnected versions of the servers, I would guess? So is the background sim in legacy mode going to be a a separate one from the live game? No one playing in legacy mode will have their actions carried over to the live game, including powerplay?
So basically an offline mode?
Most importantly, will able to make mods for offline legacy?
It'll just be tornadoes of wrecked bits of Chieftains that Arf and Bruce have managed to wreck over the years.incoming swirly octo apocalypse confirmed!
Don't worry, an octo getting swirled and an apocalypse were already both averted.swirly octo apocalypse
Apologies, I meant the refusal of the 3.8's to play the new version is holding development back.Very wrong, they can still play Horizons 4.0
Well no because it's still online. You can still play with people and it still needs servers to connect to. It's just basically an alternative reality that splits off about now.So basically an offline mode?
Horizons is synonymous with the base game.So... what is "Horizons mode" supposed to be? Is it today's Horizons 4.0?

Hold on a second!Yep - includes the lot! Entirely separate from Live Mode.
Hold on a second?
Does this mean that I have to 5C twice now?
Yes, you can consider each of your profiles on Live and Legacy as separate Commanders following the split. So .. If someone is stuck somewhere in the live game, and they switch to legacy they will no longer be moved to a compatible location and able to continue their progress from where they were, but instead they would log in wherever the legacy version of their CMDR last logged out, potentially in a totally different place?
