Glad to hear you like it!I understand why Frontier is doing this, I really do. I don't like it, LOL, but I do understand it.

Seeing as there is a BGS for the Legacy mode, the same reasoning applies - have to be online to affect the BGS as every action adds up.will the legacy mode still have solo ,open ect. ? What about a offline mode for legacy ?
What are the chances of Odyssey and Horizons 4.0 sharing the same instances in space, at any point in the future? The playerbase needs less fragmentation, not more.A fair criticism, but leaving a Legacy mode for players like yourself seemed preferable to shutting it down entirely as you say. I expect that many if not most of the existing player base that will ever buy Odyssey has already done so. It's likely that brand new players will trend towards the Live version (whether that's Horizons OR Odyssey) rather than Legacy.
Oh, please, we've been reading about your reluctance to move to Odyssey for more than a year, bypassing a few sales offers and a donation. The dilemma I see is that I could easily keep playing in 3.8 (though it will be far less entertaining without CGs), but let's say I play another year before finally switching to Odyssey - all that year's worth of progress is lost. The irony is that this actually disincentivizes me to upgrade later. It's basically "Upgrade now or never!" and once you upgrade, there's no going back (for example, if I want a superior VR experience).
Starting November 29th, EDH 3.8 will be as much a separate game from "live" Elite as Space Engineers and X4 Foundations is. Though I guess I should be thankful that Frontier hasn't killed 3.8 outright, though this is obviously a step in that direction.
Future content will be available across both Horizons and Odyssey on the Live version. Purchasing Odyssey is not a requirement for any of the things you list. Are there any sales planned for Odyssey in the near future, across all PC storefronts? This is a massive kick in the teeth to ask people to pay more than the price of base game just to get any future content, even just CG's. This affects the Fuel Rats, this affects anyone with a PMF or just any minor faction supporters, this affects trading player groups, this affects anyone who plays outside of just their own little bubble.
Odyssey and Horizons players will be able to instance together for the first time as of Update 14 by both being able to play in Horizons on Live. In that regard we're joining players together rather than fragmenting anything. What we're not offering is to allow Horizons players into the Odyssey instance for free. What are the chances of Odyssey and Horizons 4.0 sharing the same instances in space, at any point in the future? The playerbase needs less fragmentation, not more.
Ah yes, forgot EDH 4 was a thing, sorry about that.Future content will be available across both Horizons and Odyssey on the Live version. Purchasing Odyssey is not a requirement for any of the things you list.
Yes. Horizons is synonymous with the base game. Will players who newly buy only the base game have access to Horizons 4.0 ?
I do have a serious question regarding this. After November 29th, will new players who buy Horizons on Steam automatically get version 4.0 instead of 3.8?Future content will be available across both Horizons and Odyssey on the Live version. Purchasing Odyssey is not a requirement for any of the things you list.
Fix the thrusters in Odyssey and a few of the other anomalies always repeatedly mentioned and I'd be happy to return to Odyssey.A fair criticism, but leaving a Legacy mode for players like yourself seemed preferable to shutting it down entirely as you say. I expect that many if not most of the existing player base that will ever buy Odyssey has already done so. It's likely that brand new players will trend towards the Live version (whether that's Horizons OR Odyssey) rather than Legacy.
New players will have access to both Live and Legacy modes. Without Odyssey purchase, this means Horizons 4.0 (Live) and Horizons 3.8 (Legacy).I do have a serious question regarding this. After November 29th, will new players who buy Horizons on Steam automatically get version 4.0 instead of 3.8?
ok so no offline mode ok them but different modes still will be in legacy mode yes ?Seeing as there is a BGS for the Legacy mode, the same reasoning applies - have to be online to affect the BGS as every action adds up.
Yes, you'll still have Solo, Private Group and Open in Legacy.ok so no offline mode ok them but different modes still will be in legacy mode yes ?
It's not about that. I'm saying about the mechanics like Crystal Forest which in Horizons are bond with Fumaroles which provides heat and minerals to microorganisms which create the Crystal Shards in close formations but in Odyssey they are spread in the entire world and have no link between the Crystal Shards and Fumaroles, which I only can assume that now the microorganisms don't need heat and minerals to survive. This is only one example but there is multiple examples which turns the material gathering even harder and time consuming than before. And speaking science-wise, makes no sense at all considering the in-game description in the codex. It was a design decision when Odyssey was made. Frontier have made their position clear on it multiple times.
Material gathering is still easy, but you won't get the nav panel icons back.
It's coming up to black Friday so it's reduced in price in both steam and epic currently. Are there any sales planned for Odyssey in the near future, across all PC storefronts?
Not true. I cut it and get 6 items. Just did 2 days ago 5 times. Or shoot it and get 1 item. Now we have the cargo racks always broken
