That is the launcher error everyone was talking about, I used the suggested approach of downloading a new copy of the launcher from the store which worked perfectly.

@sallymorganmoore can you double-check the material rewards for the new AX missions (the wing missions that are titled "Kill X Basilisks", "Kill X Medusas" etc.). They only seem to be offering ONE material as a reward which seems very insufficient, considering the risk and the older missions for killing a single interceptor used to offer 5 materials.

As said, they're still too dear and too hard to get!!

Indeed they've been on sale for two years now, but Sony in particular has done nothing to combat the many scalpers snapping them up and indeed while PS5s are getting slightly easier to get, the disc version which launched for €500, SHOULD be down to about €400 by now, but it actually went up by €50!!

Also PS5 games are too dear as well, generally costing €80!

Indeed many PS3 and PS4 games were listed with €65-70 r.r.p.s, however in practice most were €60 at most at launch and were put on deep sales three to six months later, while overpriced PS5 games barely go on sale!

But still, all that said, i'd still buy Elite on PS5 any day over buying it on PC! 😯😂😀🤘

Right I was getting a bit confused by people talking about Next Gen consoles and thought something new was out or about to be.

Due to the PS4 and Xbox One still being very good and very well supported systems, I and many others can't call them "last gen", even though technically they are! 😯😂

Upgraded EDO and EDH and the option to reset to orbit is not in either the EDO or EDH options menu. EDO and EDH client shows as Odyssey 4.0.0 Update14.

  • Commanders playing 'Live' have a new option in the Options menu to 'reset to orbit', in order to release themselves from unintended tricky situations.

Known Issue with Launching the game:
  • For some, there is an "endless loop" when attempting to follow a prompt to update their launcher.
    • We're investigating why this is happening for some and not others by passing on reports at present.
    • A helpful suggestion on a fix for this issue has been shared by Commander Buur, in that If you have trouble getting the launcher to update then download it again from the FDEV store.
    • Another case regarding the above launcher issues is that of Commanders being unable to acquire a 'new version' of the launcher.
UPDATE ON LAUNCHER ISSUES:
  • 'Re-install launcher' will hopefully now work for those who have been struggling. Please do try again when possible/prompted.



CONNECTION ISSUES:
  • For others there is a persistent black screen occurring following entering game.
    • Again, we're taking reports and discussing.
  • Commanders experiencing a number of connection errors and crash/stability issues when loading into game. Connection error examples are currently:
    • Scarlet Krait.
    • Mauve Adder.
    • Taupe Cobra.
    • Orange Sidewinders.
Appreciate if you're hitting either of these, then they're very progress halting issues that you're facing right now but we're here with you, we'll help as readily as possible o7



As you can imagine, there's a lot to take in from the day so far and lots more to come so happy to open this thread and welcome you all in as we move.

Once again, progress on Legacy availability will be shared as soon as we have it.

Advanced Multicannon AX ammo synthesis seems to be broken. It now says "Applies Kinetic Damage" instead of "Applies AX Ammo". When I started out, it was fine(I had it synthed before the update), but once I synthed more it stopped dealing damage to thargoids entirely.

Edit; On death I could do damage once again. Not exactly sure what's going on.

From the main menu, pick Help and Info, it is the last choice on the right. But it is not listed as reboot in orbit, it is called 'Stuck Recovery'. At least that is how it is listed in my 4.0 Client menu. I have not had to use it yet.

How does the "reset to orbit/Stuck Recovery" option work? I can't get in-game right now to test, but wouldn't people be able to send their ship to orbit, and then select this option to immediately go into their ship, thus avoiding having to manually take off ever again? Or is there a cooldown?

@sallymorganmoore in the grand scheme of bugs, this one is negligible, but the payout window from Vista Genomics does not match the actual payout. In this screenshot the window showed 12,073,500 credits with discovery bonus and the actual payout was 4,829,400.

HI, Sally! Will we be reimbursed the cost in tritium and hull maintenance?

I'm just finding out about this I am lucky that my carrier has jumped only once. However, for those whose carriers have gone rogue the bill's gonna be quite steep.
