All my previous hyperdictions had been by the usual interceptor models, I didn't realise Glaives were now part of the mix. Yikes. They are fast. Lost a 720m/s Courier to them last night.
An excess of blood in the....How did I even type that?!?!
Can you tell how the morning is going haha?
It‘s called the morning club, other sorts of mornings are malicious rumours intended to make us think we are doing worse than we are.Is there a "Bad Morning club"? I'll join...
Yeh, one of these just tagged me after interdiction; might as well have just self-destructed, my 520m/s boost Krait couldn't get further than 2-3km away before it zipped right back up my tailpipe. If these are going to be common now, doing AX restoration missions just got taken off the table for anyone not capable of soloing Interceptors... Not sure what to think of this.Wow. Hyperdictions just got intense.
I tthought I'd try visiting Hadad in my shieldless Clipper, I got hyperdicted as usual and I think it was by 2 Glaives - they could keep up to my 570+ boost and were doing damage to hull and modules while I waited for my FSD to come back online. When I got to the system I was then intercepted by Scouts a couple of times - they were still doing damage but this may be because my FSD and Thrusters kept going offline so I wasn't getting away fast enough.
Managed to limp back to my home port without a rebuy but I may need to rethink the build.
I'll be having a look once I've had something to eat.Cannot see anything in the notes (and won't be able to check until much later): was the issue of anaerobic fires at AX restoration missions addressed?
No point trying to outrun it to get out of mass lock, you have to turn around and boost towards it (and pray it doesn't give you a face full of lightning to dampen your thrusters) to get a 5km distance.Yeh, one of these just tagged me after interdiction; might as well have just self-destructed, my 520m/s boost Krait couldn't get further than 2-3km away before it zipped right back up my tailpipe. Should something this unavoidably deadly be engaging commanders who aren't actively hunting AX combat?
Edit: After some advice from another commander, I'm going to fit heatsinks and will try running silent if one of these engages again. Maybe I'll get away then.
Fires continue to burn after purge.Cannot see anything in the notes (and won't be able to check until much later): was the issue of anaerobic fires at AX restoration missions addressed?
Edit: Since this post I realised these attacks only occur in Controlled systems, so I actually think this is OK as it is. So long as they don't keep expanding out into other space, we can at least avoid/hunt them depending on what we want.No point trying to outrun it to get out of mass lock, you have to turn around and boost towards it (and pray it doesn't give you a face full of lightning to dampen your thrusters) to get a 5km distance.
Do we know where they are appearing - is it just jumping to fully Thargoid-controlled worlds? I hope they are not there for invasion state, otherwise my trusty T7 refugee ship is in for a rough ride coming back for refills. No point trying to outrun it to get out of mass lock, you have to turn around and boost towards it (and pray it doesn't give you a face full of lightning to dampen your thrusters) to get a 5km distance.
According to galnet they're only interdicting in thargoid-controlled systems so in theory if you only took AX restoration missions targetting recovery systems, you wouldn't encounter them. The issue with that is that recovery system settlements still have the bug where they're likely to already be powered up when you get there whereas settlements in thargoid-controlled systems are guaranteed to be properly abandoned.I get it that AX pilots want more AX content. But this, for the first time (for me anyway), is where the game has forcibly crossed the two (very different parts of the game) together and made it that advanced piloting/ship outfitting up is going to be required to complete on foot missions. It was sort of fine with just normal interceptors (I believe you can run from them all fine in moderately upgraded ships but the constant interdictions are really annoying most of the time) but these Glaives are way too much for a normal EDO player to handle. I'd much prefer it if these remained in locations where advanced AX pilots go to find advanced AX content (i.e. Maelstroms), if I'm honest.
Travelling in thargoid controlled systems, not just when you're jumping in i.e. they are interdicting ships, not just hyperdicting them. They're also sometimes showing up in AX combat zones which is a big PITA because they can wreck your guardian modules even while you're docked at a station.Do we know where they are appearing - is it just jumping to fully Thargoid-controlled worlds? I just listened to the same Galnet article. This explains it as the system I was in was under invasion but flipped to controlled today. Note that the restoration missions in recovery systems (when/where not bugged) are the standard restoration missions sometimes w/Scavs. Not the Tharg drone patrol ones.I just listened to the same Galnet article. This means I'll need to move on to another location, which I don't mind as much as needing to learn how to escape these. That they're limited to controlled systems is OK in my opinion, as they can be avoided/sought after, depending on which you desire.
Marvelous news! Thank you and thanks to the entire team!Greetings Commanders.
As with any major update for Elite Dangerous, thank you all once again for your constructive thoughts and feedback.
Although not in game at present that is what I expected. I have an engineered armed courier that can reach the hard cap speed. So me sitting here with a smug faceJust now I completed some experiments about Glaive - I jumped around in Dolphin (580 m/s boost) and was hyperdicted by Glaive, of course he was faster, I turned back and boosted to pass nearby him, but then he used lightning attack, my FSD disabled, and then I turned again, boost, heatsink, and finally I jumped away with 78% hull. Then I tried iCourier (780 m/s boost) and jumped around only to thargoid controlled systems, and after 4 - 5 jumps it was Glaive again, and still he was faster! I was able to jump away with same tactics, and then I changed loadout (unfortunately I removed planetary vehicle hangar which I need for restoration missions) to reach 848 m/s boost, and this is faster then Glaive! So his speed must be 800 - 820 m/s. Maybe this numbers are already known, I don't know.
