Update 17.01 | Update Notes

everytime the game crashes why send a report as you said you restarted and all is well .unless it is persistant and others are having the same problem it just a hiccup with the server.

Well, while I would love many other bugs to be fixed as well, there is perhaps a few points to consider:
  • Paul did say they are aware of the bug that was mentioned
  • they are going through a difficult time which affects the people working there
  • they did say they are shifting focus to builder games and are working on 3 new titles

Maybe cut them some slack?
1: I did not see his post. If I had I would not have brought it up.
2: I'm sorry they are having a difficult time. This has nothing to do with fixing defects.
3: I'm not sure this should have even been brought up. I don't play those other games. Are you saying they've reduced the number of employees working on ED bugs to build these other games?

The bug was introduced in Release 17. 30 years of Software Validation tells me this clue should make it fairly easy to reproduce and fix, unless the code is like the spaghetti of X86 BIOS. HOWEVER since it has been publicly acknowledged I will cease and desist, and assume it will be fixed in the next release.

I'm really only upset because I spent over 500M building the Type 10 for Massacre Missions, only to be presented with the rebuy screen returning from the bathroom after 20 minutes of play. The ship can't be touched by pirates in the Low RES. I went from 100% to rebuy in less than 5 minutes.
Hindsight: Never go to the bathroom until you go offline. Whoda thunk?
Peace.

Nice response. Your opinion vs hundreds of others having difficulty with this issue.
Jack doesn't think it's important. Next bug...
It's very unlikely that my personal opinion has any effect whatsoever on Frontier's bug fixing.. Still I think that not being able to AFK the T-10 comes very low on the list of priorities...

Like several others have said, either it's a bug they didn't find and hopefully will get around to when they can, or it's part of the narrative as it coincided with the halloween event and pilots going crazy killing innocents.

Have fun...
I gave CIG money some years ago - I'm hoping they will release a game before I die, but am not optimistic about it!
Dont worry I bought my 10 year old nephew a Star citizen account, when he retires he'll be able to see if its completed by then 😁
Seriously... lets hope we dont have to sing my favourite programming song when starting elite (updating now)

Bill

All together now

99bugs in the code
99 bugs in the code
take one down
patch it around
127 bugs in the code

PS. I am a professional programmer by trade, and have that sign above my desktop :geek:

OK, here's my feedback. All three of my pilots updated quickly and efficiently.
Only one problem. One of the biggest bugs I see pilots complaining about is https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/62015.

System Authority and Power Play agents unprovoked agro.

8 pages of reports. Count em... 80 reports (per the tracker). That's just the pilots that bothered to report it. I would say that means over 10K pilots have had this issue, many dying because Security Forces are firing on ships when scanning them.
This is keeping pilots from completing massacre missions.

What's it gonna take for you to pay attention and fix this?
Hey i was attacked by a Utopian agent whilst fortifying one of our own systems, his family have been notified, these things happen :ROFLMAO:

I was surprised they bothered with a 17.1 at all so long after p17 - normally we only get a minor patch if there are gamebreakers (which NPCs running an occasional shield test isn't).

Still - glass half empty eh?
Maybe I'm wrong, and I have a tendency to be cynical, but I assumed that the main reason for the update was the changed Orthrus behavior in which they scoot when people shoot -- presumably to slow down the money printing a bit.
