You don't seem to understand that this isn't FD's event.

Drew decided to do that and it has nothing to do with FD.

There are other reasons, valid ones, why it would be a real problem to postpone this event.

launcher tells me the game is already updated. load the game, it tells me i need to update.

download and install new launcher, it tells me the game is already up to date.

how do i get the update to work?

They didn't delay the evcent because the want to roll out the story updates in time before future updates/events/content. I think Drew's event, and the release of the raider kits do point towards that alien hive in the unknkown trailer - I think we'll get to see the on the weekend.
To sum it up: this 'rushed' update must be good news.

Have a listen to Obsidian Ant's interview with Drew where he talks about the event on the 29th. You'll get a good idea why he decided to carry on with the event.

I don't think it is ready yet. Once it is, the launcher will download the latest.

What if we look at it from PC/Mac players point of view, for fairness. If the patch is ready for those 2 platforms, why should we wait for xBox patch then? Doesn't it make sense to release it to PC/Mac to make those players happy and then release for XB when it's ready?
