Patch Notes Update Update 2.3.01

Waiting for a new Salt planet to be orbited by a new station - Salt Lake City.

Actually, I nod my head to the salty comment. I will take that as a sign of hope, and perhaps sometime soon, a few sweeteners could be dropped in regards to the result of all that farming. That would make my irritation die down a little. It's hard to sit down y'know?

.....

But let's be honest, this patch is being pushed out to PC and Mac now because of the in game event.

FD decided to do that and it has nothing to do with Microsoft.

You guys are sooooo keen to poop on MS every chance you get that you ignore the fact that the decision to have the event this weekend, the decision to NOT sync these patches with all platforms is FD's.

You all come off as "Well I got mine, screw you"

Well thanks for that. Much appreciated.

What if we look at it from PC/Mac players point of view, for fairness. If the patch is ready for those 2 platforms, why should we wait for xBox patch then? Doesn't it make sense to release it to PC/Mac to make those players happy and then release for XB when it's ready?

You come off as "Well, if I don't get my toys fix, NOBODY WILL! Screw you!"

Well, thanks for that. Much appreciated.

----------^ This. BTW, I'm a PS4 owner, and so I've got way more reason to kick up dust than you Xbox owners, but what good would that do? I'll watch the live stream of the event and enjoy it vicariously through others, knowing that someday it will be my turn :)

How tall would said pillars be? :O

Did you hear about those "pillars of creation"?

That was my thought.

I'm the one in the middle.

Hi Colin,

No... Wasn't in the release notes. It has never been mentioned in any of the FDEV patch notes all through the Beta. Its as if this glaring issue doesn't exist as far as they are concerned, and all bug reports and threads about it have been roundly ignored officially by Frontier.

I just don't get it. All anyone has to do to see the problem is compare the Anaconda Cockpit to any other ship in the game. Compare the contrast/brightness of the circular scanner display to any other ship and notice that the Conda is 90% brighter. That is just the tip of the Iceberg with this issue though. As anyone who flies this ship regularly will tell you.

Didn't Brett just confirmed to you that lighting issues are further down the list?

Yes, Conda cockpit is lit badly now, it does need fixing. But it's not as urgent as map pop up, infinite ammo or drastic FPS drops.

I actually remember them saying they are aware of the issue. So you are either lying or ignorant or both. It's not like you don't have a point, they should give us a heads up about the issue. But no reason to act all butthurt about it.

I can only tell you based on my feelings. So yes, you should, because many MORE IMPORTANT bugs got fixed.

That is about the most tone deaf attitude I think you could have about this kind of stuff. "My issues got fixed, so I don't care that others just as glaring have been systematically ignored. Doesn't effect me, so I don't care."

Seriously?

Wow!

No need to go all xbox player here :D

Here's the difference, and as a future ED owner, I really hope you can understand and appreciate this some day:

When FD released 2.3 a few weeks ago, it started locking people out of their game. Completely. A product THEY purchased they can not play.

YOU haven't purchased ED yet. But imagine you did. THAT is where you'll be as a second rate citizen of Elite Dangerous.

That's you on his ignore list then [haha]

Considering this issue was one of the first bug reports filed in the first Beta release of 2.3 seven weeks ago (by Me) and followed up with a half dozen more from other commanders within the first couple of days, and continued follow ups both in the Beta forums and the LIVe version... Frontier has NEVER officially responded to this issue.

They keep ignoring the complaints, and obviously, they apparently refuse to fix the problems.

You tell me... Should I be happy that this wasn't addressed in the latest update?

We are talking about a minor-number release here; 2.3.01. It's a bugfix release, and one which fixes a lot of rather important bugs.

The Anaconda bridge bug, though. I rather like that clean look as I've said in other threads. And be honest with yourself - is it a showstopper bug? Should FDEV have de-allocated resources from one or more of the real showstopper bugs in order to fix just that one thing you're apparently finding so desperately important?

Some perspective is required, IMO.

I'm sure they'll get around to - sadly - making the Anaconda bridge look like an old used toilet again eventually, perhaps when 2.3.1 gets rolled out. But for now perhaps a little bit of patience would go a long way.

I used to be able to look at it that way. I was usually the first to give FDEV the benefit of the doubt.

Its getting mighty hard to smile and nod now though.

I used to be a console player for quite a long time, but they've lost me with the current generation.
The concept has lots of advantages, but since I've got a taste of PC gaming, I do not intend to look back... now if if I could use the keyboard for gaming without looking down from the screen.

That's what a HOTAS controller is for.

Despite all the salt and upset CMDR's, I hope you all enjoy the event and have fun.

PS4 owner here too just waiting to get my wings.

Only response from the support staff has been that they will forward the report on to the developers. That is as far as this has ever gone.

Lying or Ignorant?

What is your problem?

There is a large segment of this community that uses this ship A LOT! The changes that have been made are not positive ones, and we want the issues addressed.

If you have nothing constructive to contribute to this other than throwing out personal insults, then how about you just keep you clueless mouth shut?

Sorry if it was insulting to you, but Brett just replied to you about the issue and you very much ignored it. That's why I thought being ignorant was fitting ;)

BTW
I contributed more than that, but you... wait for it... ignored it!

Priorities.

When people can't play the game because of a map bug and there are issues with a game breaking infinte missiles, that's the prioroty. There are only so many things that can be fixed in a week and a bit. I suspect that the Conda bug has been left in because there were serious problems with the MC networking which needed a lot of work before the 2.3 release (That has seem to be the focus anyway). Heck, a lot of people were yelling 'Put Roll in for the Gunner' but we never got a response on that either. I think this is one for the 2.3.1 release. Does it stop you playing the game?

Wow!

It does affect me, Anaconda is my main ship. I honestly think the other issues were MUCH more important.

Also, you have asked me to tell you how you should feel and I did. Why are you're being salty about it towards me? If you didn't want my opinion, and instead just wanted me to confirm your point of view, perhaps you should have added that bit to your post, so I could happily ignore it then?

Think about this in the future.
