Patch Notes Update Update 3.3.04

Cool your jets and read this again. They have changed the default Xbox/PS4 controller bindings to fit more essential controls, like the FSS. Given the finite button real-estate it's better not to have 2 whole chords taken up by maps. The ability to bind a shortcut to the galaxy map has not been removed from the game...

If you're using the default context controls you should rebind them anyway as they are frankly awful and don't give full 6DOF controls or prioritize survival essentials.

I guess you're probably right but that is not what Will said.

Hi

No, please no. In my opinion, for those of us who use voiceattack for example, it is a very bad option to eliminate those shortcuts for some commands such as access to pre-established routes.

Thakns for the update, and Please reconsider the removal.

+rep - i was beginning to wonder if I was the only person that was bothered by this :(

Yeah, I know I can reprogram VA to use the relevant keypresses, but it doesnt help with the loss of the binds on my joystick :(

Was it removed on all versions or just the xbox? If it was removed on PC exploration is dead in the water. I rely on that to do everything.

NVM, I think I read someone's response and got the answer.

Look again at the formatting of the OP - it is embedded in the section about the default context controls, it's clear that he's talking about controls being modified for this profile, not for the game as a whole.

I think this is for console-style controllers only. At least, every other bullet in that list is very specifically for console controllers.

Good to see the superjump exploit was fixed!

I feel like it'd only be fair though, to remove discovery tags that were gotten through cheating, like the ones on the Ex Cancri cluster and NGC 188.
NGC 188 was visited a few days ago by a player that cheated, and if it can ever be reached legitimately, i feel like it's unfair to be beaten to the punch by someone who cheated..

I wouldn't call anybody a cheater if they achieved something due to a bug. They might not even know that this was a bug, not a feature.
Maybe those discoveries should be wiped clean, but repeating (three times) that this was cheating is a bit too much.

LOL. Like I said you are probably right, but it wasn't at all clear to me or a lot of other people as you can see.
I use an Xbox-lookalike controller on a PC so I do have the XYAB buttons and "default context" doesn't suggest console-specific to me.

I'm very glad that your interpretation seems reasonable though so we don't lose the shortcuts :D

Exploration

Stopped the 'System Scan Complete' message spamming the player

It's not "console specific" it's for the default context controller binding which also exists for the PC. Really, it's also not my interpretation, it's what the post literally indicates. Sorry if I'm sounding rude, but this is absolutely a non-issue.

"Removed the ability for players being able to incorrectly jump huge distances when their ship was without fuel"

Why would people report this?

@FD When can we expect the so most wanted BGS update? Can you please say something about it? For example we need for sure 1 more month or 2 weeks...

Please Reply, thanks in advance. o7

Any news of a fix for the PS4 hard crashing when closing the ED app? Must be ragging my Hard Drive having to re check the data all the time! And sick of putting in crash reports!

PS. Only happens on Elite Dangerous.
P.P.S happens on my pro and my ps4 original

Thanks

Wow - that was close. Finished collecting my 8 Guardian weapon blueprints and 172 technology components with 90 seconds to spare!

Please balance up the Guardian structure materials. You did a good job of sorting out the sentinel drops, but now I'm finding I'm having to relog a silly amount of times just to get sufficient Guardian Technology Components (usually maximum 4 modules per site and 282 are required to unlock the guardian technology modules! Divide 282 by 4 gives 71 - so simply visiting all of the sites won't be sufficient, relogging or as a minimum, visiting sites several times, is a must. Maybe it's your intention that the Guardian tech should be unlocked bit by bit - on an as required basis, but the distances involved mean it makes more sense to unlock everything in one go.
