Nope. Galaxy server time continues regardless of their up or down status. To be fair they gave an hour's notice in game, and repeated the message every 5 minutes or so. I know, because I was racing the clock trying to get my last smuggling deliveries done.

I have the same doubt. Do we have to manually install a new version of the launcher, or will it just automatically update after the update's release?

Hi zac any word if new (player)minor factions have been added to the game?
Past experience would suggest that the countdown on missions will continue to countdown unfortunately... I have a stack of 12 missions all counting down so I feel your pain ;-)
well thats nice but what about pc? this thing is stuck on the same commanders for at least 3 month and probably longer. so is it going to be broken for them as well or are you fixing it on both sides?
It's a minor version update, so since the post doesn't say you need to update the client, I'm going to go with you probably don't need to update the client. It will update the bits needed to bring the install current (play in the launcher will be replaced with upgrade). It's been this way for many updates now.

Quick update to keep you all in the loop.
We've hit a small issue in deployment which the team have been focusing on. Everything is progressing fine but it does mean that the servers will need to remain down for a little longer. We're estimating up to a couple of hours but we'll keep people informed as we know more.

They will probably expire before the outage ends. So it won't really matter at that point. They can't wind time back, and if they insert more hours then the next CG will be shorter. Neither are going to go to completion regardless.
New player minor factions are major update only, you will have to wait until 2.1, for example we changed our system description just after 2.0 and have been waiting for 2.0
Seems like Elite is a tad confused this afternoon.
