Just tried the automated VR demo in the Keelback, very slick. Perfect for demoing ED to friends and family - The ship auto jumped for me, when I arrived I flew into the star on purpose (simulating what a newbie might do) When I dropped out a space station was in orbit right next to star. It seems the demo will adapt to whatever you do, even mistakes.

Support guide? Don't suppose you have a link?

Already tried the Alternative Download Method if that's what it suggests. This happens to me with every update. I just usually have to wait two days or so till the server demand dies down and then it'll work. Kinda puts things in perspective for those who think four or five hours is a long wait ;)

Away from pc, but if you click support tab from the launcher it opens with some FAQ. This problem was first on the list. Need to delete .part and .progress files.
Good luck

Not forgetting the bugs that came with the last missions, of which they are already aware of and monitoring. Indeed, It's a plus for VR users, but what about solving the bugs that affect us ALL ... GAMEPLAY bugs.
I'm pretty sure that the gameplay bugs are worked on by the guys who code the gameplay, not by those who code the VR integration.

One question why do we have spend our time searching and removing files and spending valuable time to get a game running .

As there is an entire building of programmers to fix this problem.

Sooo Just to make it clear the xbox players dont have to download any update? Because I launch elite dangerous on my XBOX ONE and no update it wanted for me.???? how is that possible ??? That means this update is only for PC players ????

Thank you. commanders...

What a difference playing the DK2 with 0.6 and using SteamVR. It was like going back to the old days. The display was shuddering so I had to switch off oversampling and when I did that all the text on the HUD became illegible. Also can someone explain to me why I have a black border to the left of my vision?

Any of you out there that have only experienced the DK2 using the SteamVR wrapper, you are in for a treat when you get the new driver on Monday.

Pretty sure you should be using 0.8 with Steam VR - Follow this setup guide, working perfectly for me - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=220614

Hmm...after the update I encountered something...hmmm...strange. I´ve got a 144Hz G-sync monitor, and have v-sync turned off in game, as I have read I should, since the G-sync feature controls the sync instead. This has worked perfectly giving me super smooth gameplay in 144 FPS with all graphics on max. After the update, my FPS counter suddently went up to 200+ fps and the graphics became more stuttering. Only when I turn on v-sync, things seem to fall into place again. Any explanation why? In every other game I turn v-sync off, and the g-sync works perfectly.

Hmm...nothing to see here

Unless you are part of the handful of folks with VR, and specifically Oculus Rift, this update is pretty much does nothing.

Xbox integration is nice

10% bug, can't say I've used that button in a while anyway

I'll bet the VR team is happy to move on to more interesting projects instead of playing "wrangle the API before the VR forum has our heads."

Ok, I returned it all to normal turning g-sync off in Nvidia settings, and the turning it back on. All clear :)

Wouldn't it be great there was a free demo of the game consisting of a few automated (VR and flat-vision) sequences like this? It would make a lot of new VR adopters into customers.

For bonus points, when Multicrew comes out, allow demo owners to act as passive, non-persistent, passengers in player-piloted ships, using matchmaking and offering the pilot a few thousand Cr for giving joyrides.

- Added option for SRV to maintain level horizon if player finds motion uncomfortable

Awesome!
Not that I ever felt insane motion sickness, but I was definitely picking my landing spot according to the terrain, with visual comfort in mind…
Let's go truly off road! Love it, can't wait for the download to finish!

Yep, I'll be giving this a try too. I'd been avoiding taking SRV missions in planets that looked too lumpy, because I'd already gotten motion sickness from driving around a hilly area using the scanner to look for an escape pod.
