Update on Communication

Greetings Commanders,

I want to speak directly about the lack of official streams and reduced communications from our social channels since the start of 2022. I understand the concerns this has caused and hope this statement goes some way to alleviate them.

The whole team are excited to share all of the upcoming content for this year including new updates, content expansions and the next major phase in the ongoing narrative following the Azimuth Saga finale. Beyond this, we also look forward to sharing our new streaming format when the series returns as a weekly show. Changes will include new segments, year-round Twitch Drop campaigns and studio-quality production once we move back into the office.

However, there are several questions that must be answered internally to inform this communication plan. It is important to me that we address key subjects by priority and when we do that the information we provide is clear. The team and I are working incredibly hard behind the scenes to gather this information and provide these answers.

As always, the team and I are grateful for your patience and support while we wait for the opportunity to share all of the above with you. We will update you with more detail as soon as we can.

See you in the black o7.

Nice to know huge things are coming!
Frontier can make mistakes like any other company, but is in the right direction.
Thanks for the feecback Arthur.

They can't possibly see every thread that is posted and answer them. The forum is here for players to discuss and help if someone needs it.
They can't talk about things until they are set in stone and it's okay to discuss it. It's pretty routine.
Straw men are also pretty routine. Nobody asked for that. This wasn't about answering every post in every thread, but one post in one thread.

What does this even mean?
I know I'm a bit late to the party but if I had to guess, I suspect it means that there are internal discussions regarding logistics and time tables with moving back into the offices post COVID and the team wants to make very sure their time tables are correct, lest they have to announce something only to have to later go back on it.

internal question #3: is it legal to stop Horizons maintenance for consoles
internal question #4: how to message that the update 10 was the last update on PC

1) FD's financials are ok looking at them, no worries there.

2) Arf

3) Yes, they can drop support for any of their products any time they like

4) It wasn't so not an issue.

With respect, the paragraphs, whilst beautifully formed, are lacking in real information and appear to be sidestepping the questions that have been asked since December last year by the members of the forum.

Has the 'new era' of communication been shelved? Is ED and its expansions actually 'doomed' as is being bandied around? Read around Arf, the children are nervous!

How about wait and see, this is a small update

I'll believe it when I see it.

HERESY!

Just joking.. I too would prefer some concrete statements but I guess, this is all what we will get for the next time. Let's give them one or two weeks to prove what he wrote and if nothing changes, we can still pull our pitchforks and torches out.

If we had a binding roadmap, there would be no reason for discussions.
I think it's a moot point myself and there's no way that 'there would be no reason for discussions' if there was, CIG just took their roadmap offline citing problems with people reading it as promises rather than tentative, though obviously Frontier's scheduling issues are like a speck of dust compared to CIG.

The amazing thing about the English language is phrases like "we hope" and "we will aim to" are possible to use. Ways of outlining general plans without making firm commitments.

Yes, i know, there are those on the forum who would take any statement as a firm promise, but if you spend your time tiptoeing around the idiots you'll never do anything useful.

thanks Arf, your absence has been notable and some of us were concerned you had perhaps fallen foul of the current climate at F-Dev, I for one am very glad to see you posting again!

It means that they want their communication ducks all in a row before they ramp back up again.
Since Frontier seem to struggle with getting-things-right-first-time I'm not sure if this is a good strategy.
