It does impact all version though, as it impacts FDev's development resource-budget, where CMs spend effort, shareholder expectations and returns etc etc. If consoles get dropped then everything gets poured into the PC version, and they get a few* disgruntled (ex)customers. If they keep kicking the can down the road, they look like a politician trying to avoid stating what parties they went to...

I'm of the opinion that if that happened it would be the beginning of the end; limiting the playerbase in that way means reducing sales expectations, which are already 'underwhelming' ... which means less ROI, which means less speculative investment, reduced development budget, fewer new features ... etc.

In general, and I do not claim to speak on behalf of the moderators, anything related to communication about the game (info on outstanding bugs, future content etc) is going to be fine so that will include all the 'but what about consoles?' stuff.

As Robert Maynard says commenting on individuals is not okay, although I believe that usually it is only removed if the person the comments are about reports the post to attract the attention of a moderator.

You can still play Odyssey on your pc though right? The way you normally play. Then you can enjoy it for the brilliant expansion it is I hope.

It's a shame though that they can't build them enough for the demand. Makes you wonder if they are a cheaper way to use for mining than graphics cards, as they are just as good, if not better. Certainly according to the things I have read.

I have to ask, and I hope you understand this is frustration talking, but what are you and the other ED focused CMs actually doing for 8 hours a day if you are not engaging with the community? It can't be all sitting in meetings!

OK, I'll discuss the topic. How come players are getting chastised for bringing up ED's (non-existing) streaming schedule in the official FDEV streaming schedule thread?

If I may be so bold as to quote our own Ubermick -

(as opposed to the subforums of Planet Zoo, Lemnis Gate, or JWE2)'

And his reply from FDEV -
'Yes, exactly what I asked, you said it perfectly. Talking about Elite is done in Elite. Jens isn't on the ED team'

And whilst I acknowlege that CMs are people too, aren't they being paid by FDEV (not the volunteer ones, obviously)? What is their actual job, if not to engage with the community? What have they done for the last 2 months?

I'll answer that:

Because ED has it's own forum to discuss matters related to ED, and we do not want to have any of the games be an arena for discussions that have absolutely nothing to do with them.

It keeps the forums readable and followable, so that for instance Anyone wanting to follow an Ed discussion does not have to go to the JWE forums to do so.

So, please help everyone by keeping comments related to a specific game in the proper forum.

The other games have their own forums as well, and those threads were posted in the Frontier Developments / News & Announcements section, which sits outside any of the games sub-forums, such as Elite, JWE, etc.

So this explanation doesn't really make that much sense and still don't see why Elite shouldn't be brought up there.

PS - and the thread titles themselves do* suggest that they are relevant to all of Frontier's games ("Frontier Fam"), so shooing people away for mentioning the "E-word" isn't a great look imo, instead only fuels the fire of theories about what the heck is going on here.

And why is ED a special case here? Why are the CMs for the other games busy in their forums? Why after 2 months without any communication from FDEV are we being told not to post outside the ED forum? Seriously, what is going on with ED and FDEV?
