Indeed - glad to see a date. It's still a ways to go to get to the level of engagement from before Christmas but it's something at least.Aaaand we're done here.

I don't think we're going to see that for a bit. Something internal is keeping them quiet. And since there's evidence that the company isn't going to be sold if Braben has anything to say about it, the most likely scenario now is that we may not be hearing anything because they're working on an answer to the omnipresent demand of "consoles when?", which at this moment is unsubstantiated.Indeed - glad to see a date. no but the fixes that are implemented on the console version can be used on the pcI seriously doubt it works that way. That would mean converting the game to two different console platforms, making changes on one or both of those, and then porting them back to pc?
As opposed to doing what they appear to be doing, getting the pc fixed and only then porting it to two console platforms.
right after being told their version was going fine and on track with the PC version, after a long communications blackout by which point they already knew they weren't going to carry on with the mac version.Don't quite get your examples, I mean the removal of Mac support was announced. Or were you expecting running commentary? Internal memos and meeting notes read out allowed on the Internet?!
Hardly an impermeable barrier though, is it? All you need is about £350 million to buy up 40%.adding that the 33 per cent stake he and his wife had in the company would act as a “natural barrier”
Does he think the share price has gone up? This is an incredibly strange thing to say.“If you look at what happened to the share price it wouldn’t make sense to do anything now,” Braben said of the possibility of a sale
"Sell" Implies choice. But of course, if someones pockets are deep enough, that is not a consideration at all. What he means is that he values the company at a much higher value that the current enterprise value, and thus would not sell at the current share price.

It's not just you. Even if there are a lot less players at the moment, it's definitely more than one.Is anyone else noticing there are a lot less active players at the moment? I mean a lot less. Or is it just me?

Dont worry - consoles will bring back the player numbers. It's normal for a game update to bring people back, although how long those that return remain for depends on the changes the update brings.
I'm sure the steam charts will reflect those console players...Dont worry - consoles will bring back the player numbers.
Nothing can go wrong....
Some are possibly Ukrainian CMDR`s etc and have more than enough to cope with at this time.Is anyone else noticing there are a lot less active players at the moment? I mean a lot less. Or is it just me?
I'm sure the steam charts will reflect those console players...
Haven't the console players also been insisting that nobody plays anymore and that the galaxy is empty? Only hearsay, of course, as I don't play on PS4 currently (it popped) so don't see any info...
I know, I don't play on steam either... Frontier launcher on all 3 active accounts.Steam charts pretty obviously don't include the console playerbase. They don't even include the whole PC platform.

I do understand levity is frowned upon, but am unlikely to become a total killjoy just because it would suit the agenda of some.![]()
Of course I'm not making much sense... It is a lateral thinking exercise which requires a sense of the ridiculous to fully appreciate. Perhaps relating my comment to the one it was referred to, then thinking why I may have made such a comment, might, just might, make the comment in context. You're not making much sense I'm afraid.
Steam is a platform that ED is sold on, but not the only one so stats from Steam can be useful for broad trends but don't give the whole picture. The steam chart I linked to shows a recent downward trend. It wasn't some hugely nuanced dig at anything, no agenda, hidden or otherwise just correcting your statement.
Clearly you believe what you wrote was highly articulate and intelligent. I am not looking for an argument, only correcting your (obvious if you think about it) statement about Steam Charts, which I introduced to the conversation in a light-hearted but positive way and was commented on by another, again in a light-hearted way.Of course I'm not making much sense... But, in the nicest possible way, it probably won't, in this instance.
At no point did I quote your reference to steam charts, as you are already aware, had I been doing so I'd just bring up the "Horizons" chart with zero players, to illustrate the futility of concurrent player statistics... (which may or may not be useful in illustrating trends on that particular platform)
Naturally, I would expect such a friendly and literal suggestion from your good self.Clearly you believe what you wrote was highly articulate and intelligent. I do however think that you are beyond the peak of the bell curve that prescribes optimal communication and perhaps your messages would benefit from toning back a bit and recognising that most other contributors are mostly just having a bit of fun. This is only my opinion, it's okay if you disagree
Console players asking for info on Odyssey are not the enemy, they are potential customers indicating they would still like to throw money at FDev. Their frustration is understandable.
