Update on Communication

Remembering how excited the CMs are about the new things coming I wonder, how they are able to stay that silent. I just imagine them raging wild in their offices in their need to tell the world what is so exciting. Kept back from their computers by big security guys shielded and grim.
Kinda doubt it at this stage.
I reckon the biggest announcement will be the sale of the franchise to Microsoft.

My sentiments exactly. I mean have I missed something from FDev? Surely I have.

Fleet Carrier interiors are coming tomorrow (8 March). Other than an announcement on the 28th Feb saying update 11 has moved to 8 March, I've seen no fanfare, no communication, no details of a live stream, no build up, no excitement, no nothing.

Have you ever wondered why we bother?
I'm really inching closer and closer to getting my Star Citizen account. I just give in.

I think it was in the newsletter or facebook they also mentioned something about new mission types coming in 11. It is surprising that there's nothing leading up to any of this...and then maybe it's not surprising. It's kind of like they don't want to oversell it in case (when) it doesn't work and needs some patches.

Wasn't Frontier in good communication during Alpha, beta and gamma also?
Alpha needs your pledge to produce a game at some point, it may be a few years yet, but who really cares?
I guess my point is, is if they can't be bothered to get exited about it why should I (we). FC interiors will be a nice feature but the people behind it are clearly not that bothered about it are they? They will say they are, but it's clear from the lack of anything from them says so much to the contrary.

This week was a really good opportunity to engage with their community, (customers are what we really are), but yet again FDev are proving lacking again.
I feel like I'm being strung along.

I know what you mean, but as engagement has always been patchy since I arrived in the forum, expecting much 'hand-holding' from the CMs currently appears to be misplaced. Something is being 'reorganised' with ED in Frontier Towers, until whatever it might be is addressed, we (the forum) may as well just go on as before, being mushrooms.

Oh! It's too early? Update not available yet?
Oops

Meanwhile, things don't look that good on this side of things. A pity.

O7,
🙃
If they haven't been forcibly bought out at a time when their stock was such an attractive price coupled with Braben's comments in the English media it is safe to assume that he has exercised his right to stay at the helm and either has already resisted or is continuing to resist a takeover bid.

The games sector has great projection for growth and as we know most of the big companies have been on a buying spree as of late. Coupled with the immensely cut price prospects of Frontier it's safe to assume an attempt was made at aquisition.

I have never wondered why I bother with the game, I love playing it.
Some of the stuff they introduce I don’t like as much, no I am not talking about bugs, but I get used to it or ignore it and carry on playing.

I do sometimes wonder about the people here who seem to relish talking the game and company down.

I really wonder what is supposed to be so exciting about update 11. It can hardly be the FC interiors, which will basically be a variant of the familiar concourses. And a change log that promises to fix 150 bugs and stability issues, only to find out 3 days later that 2/3 of them are still not fixed. So what's it supposed to be? (and yes, I'm still playing the game, I'm just very little excited, to put it mildly).
I have never been excited about them making changes to the game, pleased to see fixes for those bugs that do affect my play yes.
But excited because they are going to introduce something new that might change the game away from what I like absolutely not, it hasn’t happened too badly yet but people keep asking for changes.

I'm looking forward to carrier interiors so I can do more with physical multi-crew (I use telepresence multi-crew a lot, or at least often have friends on board while exploring) but mostly so we can sell bio-data on the carrier, something I've been hoping to be able to do since Odyssey launched so this one's quite a big deal for me.

My Carrier is currently parked in an admin system in case I need to buy modules for it to enable functionality, I moved it there as soon as the date for update 11 was given last week.

Maybe it's just me but I don't look to other people to tell me what to get excited about, or not.
