Hey guys,

First of all I would just like to apologise to everyone that feels downhearted about the lack of information regarding the Xbox One updates.

I truly *truly* do understand the frustration that you're feeling. I can understand that it comes from the best possible place which is that you want to be able to play and enjoy certain features and content. Whether that be the features to the current game like paint jobs or being able to explore planets and with the Horizons season pass.

The reason we haven't given an additional update past the previous ones is because we don't have any dates to share just yet. I understand that can be frustrating and I know that some people just want to know it's still in the being worked on.

The one thing I can say, if for any reason there has been a change to the progress that we're making, if it looks as though we find an issue that stops or blocks development we will let the community know and we would do it at the earliest possible opportunity.

Luckily I can say that this is not the case. The development continues to be ongoing and the team are working really hard to deliver features and content on the Xbox One version of Elite Dangerous.

Gary has previously said that we are aiming for Q2/Q3 to bring Horizons to Xbox One. This is still going to plan and if there are any changes to that then we will certainly let you know. I'm really hoping that we'll be able to give you more information in the near future but for now there's just a little more work to be finished before we can give you some dates with confidence. I'm hoping you'll be pleased when you hear the news.

I would just like to say that Gary really does value and respect the community and nothing would please him (or all of us) more than being able to share the dates and details with you. I have the upmost respect for Gary, he lives and breathes Elite Dangerous on Xbox One and I think that shows by how active he is in this community.

I hope that helps clear things up a little and in the meantime if you need anything at all, don't hesitate to get in touch with Brett (or myself) if you need anything.

Edit I realise now I could of just worked that out and wouldn't of looked such a giant thicko (= thanks though.

April to September? Perhaps if this was stickied it might prevent a lot of 'when is Horizons coming to Xbox' threads. Though probably not :(

The only thing that could improve upon this is the actual thread being put in the top, or an official thread being made, but this is great.

I would just like to point out that I think and have thought for months now that this Xbox forum has a STUPID amount of old/redundant stickies that need to be removed.

So your comment made me lol.

This is great, I think alot of good stuff gets lost in the shuffle of the forum. It would be nice to get a mention on the newsletter, but honestly what could be better than a Community Manager coming in a thread and putting that information out to us. I have been critical of the communication about the game, but that has been a bit misplaced. I will be patient. I just hope it comes soon. +1 for you doc. Thanks for reminding us that some information has been put out.

Case in point:

One of the XB1 stickied threads is the Screen shot competition.

It ended weeks ago.

Winners were never announced so I kinda feel like it never really happened anyway...

But here was an opportunity for the FD community team to announce the winners and showcase their shots in the last.. what? 3 newsletters?

If they had, WOW.. XB1 players would feel like they've not been forgotten from ANOTHER newlettter.

And at the same time, forum mods could have delisted that thread from the top of the forum.

INSTEAD.. it's a reminder to us that we've been forgotten that we need to scroll past on our way down to the other threads... EVERYDAY.

Or the GPP and patch threads.. Can't they either be combined? or unsitckied in place of a platform update thread that would link both of them? Or just link them in the Index thread?

You could also sticky the "looking for friends" to the group forum, or unsticky that and also link it in the index thread.



Yeah man.. just looking at the list of stickied threads makes me want to run out back and prune my apple trees. That's not a lot of fun when you live in Chicago in January..
