Ok - what's the best way to resolve the Shu Jinga war right now? Things change so fast round here I can't keep up
Good question. We
should be able to resolve Shu Jinga stalemate like we did in Wolfberg but there are a few wrinkles.
.
1. In Wolfberg, SDC is the controlling faction and they started with a large percentage that we could push down through attacking civilians and SDC ships, we can't do the same in Shu Jinga because SDC is not the controlling faction.
.
2. In Shu Jinga, SDC has only 5% influence so their NPC count is low, making for fewer targets. But shooting those few targets should make an impact. Be forewarned, that they often fly in wings and sometimes those wings get reinforced. I fought a wing of 3 in the Nav only to be quickly outgunned when 2 more reinforced the wing. 5 angry Eagles with more than pulse lasers are a formidable enemy to a Python, even a combat Python. You might say that I encountered an Angry Bird scenario.

.
3. Flipping SDC missions is supposed to have an impact but the SDC missions are offered to those that are
at least Neutral with most of them going to Friendly and Allied. Yesterday, I was Neutral and took the only mission that came along. I flipped it and now I'm Unfriendly - no more missions are offered to me! Also, it doesn't help that SDC has only 5% influence so the number of missions, relative to the other factions, is proportionately low. You'll get
one chance to flip SDC missions before you turn Unfriendly. So, if you can take more than one before flipping them, do so.
.
4. Because the other 3 factions at war are in a War, not a Civil War, we can't tell from the conflict
type which faction is actually at war with SDC. And because the other 3 factions at war are at roughly the same % influence (9%, 9.3%, 10.2%), it is difficult (but not impossible) to tell from their influence which faction is actually at war with SDC (see post #2479). Two days ago, I suspected that the faction at war with SDC was Shu Jinga Gold Hand Gang because they had influence that was closest to SDC at the time. Today's numbers tell us a different story. We know that during a conflict, the influence changes hands. In this case, during the last 2 days, all factions stayed almost the same except two - SDC went down by 1.9% and Rukandins Universal Services went up by 1.3% and Gold Hand Gang went up by 0.8%. However, looking at yesterday alone, SDC went down by 0.7% and Rukandins went up by 0.5% while Gold Hand Gang stayed the same. WE HAVE A WINNER! SDC is NOT at war with Gold Hand Gang. They are at war with Rukandins!
.
Based on this data, we should do the following in Shu Jinga:
1. Kill SDC ships. Best to do so in a wing in case of SDC wing reinforcements.
2. Complete missions for Rukandins Universal Services.
.
On a side note, I feel like I just won a round of the board game called Clue!
