I was deliberating what to put in as my chosen NPC Name and it struck me that whatever I put it'll be up to the Frontier team to judge whether I mean it to be male or female. It would have been nice to also be able to choose M or F (or H for hermaphrodite maybe

I never received the e-mail either but if you have a look at the comments on the KS page you will see a method of gaining access even without the e-mail.
Sorry if I have said more than I should but that's all I did. I would imagine they are staggering the e-mails to avoid crashing their systems.

I've been really boring and chosen my real name. But I guess the idea behind this is that until it has actually been approved you can come back and change it as many times as you wish. I suspect though that you might keep getting put to the back of the queue each time you do it so think hard folks!
is it case sensitive for example would

Just got my email and all updated. I used my real name for the NPC it will be nice to be immortalised! I won't say my commander name in case an earlier pledger fancies it.
In addition to the t-shirt size question I would like to know if you get a choice of concept art or will one be selected at random? Please say we get to choose!
Also the tool tip pop-ups do not work in Chrome! Had to log in via IE to see them.

Depending in the system they're using, it's quite possible for an email to 25,681 people to take several hours to send to everyone. Most bulk email systems throttle how quickly the emails are sent out.
I can name an NPC. but should there not be a button where I can say if the NPC I name is male or female ?

Well, why restrict it to NPC ? I'd like to have the option to choose Male or Female for my PC as well (rember there is not even a possibility to tell FD your gender).
I have a different question: Is there a time restriction (apart from Alpha, Beta and Final release date) for any of the upgrades ? I'm thinking about switching to DDF but would want to wait latest until about mid-April.
