This CG can only reach tier 1 if everyone non-stop farms Jameson, and who really wants to do that for 7 days ? Same reward as the other CG as well, so players decide to rather haul cargo or not participate at all.

I went to Jameson after my first drop off to see how many I could get, the system was full to the limit with Fleet Carriers, just to clarify I didn't relog-farm, I did one run through and, well, not enough to make a difference. I then went to bug killer, even worse and also full of carriers, then dropped into Dav's hope to see if they had upped it there, nope, basically it's just as hard to get encoded now as it was before the engineering update, but you can fill your entire capacity of manufactured of every type in a couple of hours. It just doesn't make sense.
Ehh, contributors are super low either way. It's not like this mechanic is getting any fresher.
Yeah I just dropped off enough to get me in to the 100% mark, or so I thought, turns out contribution are so low I made 75% in the trade and 50% in the data CG, oh well.
It will be interesting to see if we get the PJ on failure, not sure we've ever had this happen?

Hi, I have been doing both. In the top 10% for both. I only signed up because I liked the paint job. That said I only seem to have been rewarded credits for the essential commodities CG and nothing for the encoded mats CG. Is this normal??? I was expecting *appropriate payment" in both CGsWhy not do both?
Yes. Materials CGs have the unusual property that the thing they're asking for doesn't intrinsically give any payment.
Ordinarily this is compensated for by the CG having much higher Tier bonus payouts than other CG types, especially at the higher completion levels - so you get a big bonus at the end - but where the material CG doesn't even reach Tier 1 you don't get paid at all.
Inara estimates 28% by the end of the CG so could be a double fail.

3 years ago a highly successful relogging CG used to pay 8 billions for tier 8, top 10 and 4bn for top 10%

And I think it also shows that Frontier vastly overestimated just how many people would actually participate in the data collection side of the CG*. Not too bothered by it personally, because I kept some reserves (and found the mission rewards to be restrictive simply by rep with local offerers keeping a portion locked and thus the chance to earn high-grade data rewards)… plus I don’t have any real stake in Utopia’s dealings, I just like to try getting on Sirius’ nerves.
And he was also the only one to do anything to look into Nemesis, even when his motives might not have been perfectly altruistic…
*If they wanted it to succeed, anyway. We can only speculate on that subject.

Huh, what relogging? Have you been to Jameson recently... ?It obvious the Relogging CG is failing... i'm not taking part !!!
Joking aside, FD seems to have set the relogging CG to fail, asking for G3 materials instead of G1 and thus raising the bar for T1 really high.
If you're lucky, you get 100 AECs (the g5 mat) in one trip around Jameson's corpse. If you're unlucky, you have to relog all of one time. Then, Jameson's ex-ship is 134 Ly from Polevnic, that's probably 3 jumps for any established player, and the CG station has a data mat trader. Trade, turn in, repeat, little to no relogging necessary.

But yea, other than that i know what you mean - i made good cash back then when hudson and winters were throwing out credits for encoded materials

CGs mostly only pay out if they're successful. Unless fdev cave, which has happened before. Probably not this time it seems
