Community Event / Creation [VIDEO] 6 CMDRs vs my Scout!

Wow that was a great fight, congrats!! It really makes me feel like getting a proper PvP outfit: I am impressed by how punishment your shields withstood! The scout sounds looks fun as well.

Great fight, as for multicannons, I like them a lot but I am in love with my beams. You can make the argument that it's easier to manage power sure, and keep pips in shields but I've never had trouble with either with my beams. You basically never need pips in your systems, having full pips in systems doesn't directly increase your shield power, what happens is that your shields constantly recharge by draining power from you system capacitor so as long as you have power in the capacitor you get the same benefits whether or not you have 4 or 0 pips in engines. Managing your power on the fly to keep your systems powered while supporting engines and beams is kind of micro intensive but very rewarding once you get the hang of it. Keeping weapons from overheating can be challenging but on my vulture my fixed beams have trouble hitting smaller targets at the same time anyway, so I simply set them to separate fire groups and only fire a beam when I have a shot, it really saves on energy consumption.

Stay frosty

ALL combat zones should be in RES sites! Well, at least some.

So much more fun with cover/asteroids to dodge. The thing I hate most about combat zones I've been in is that there is simply no cover, just empty space with a bunch of ships going nuts... I'd like to see battles go down around stations, too...

Z...

That's hilarious! I would of loved to hear your impression of me. I'm pledged to Aisling Duval. I took one look at her and instantly made my decision. :D

Ah, no way! I'm pledged to Aisling Duval too...In fact I posted this video on the Facebook group wall today for inspiration. Hope I didn't sound offensive when I said, "doing impressions", my friend and I have watched most of your youtube videos (Tyberio Python is my personal favourite) and I happened to be fighting a Patreus Cmdr in Cubeo in an all canon Asp, and I shouted "Get outta here!" like in one of the videos, in a US accent :)

Pips in shields directly decreases the amount of damage they take per hit. Increased resistance.

Increased pips in engines also increases speed and increases blue zone allowing for a better flight model.

It's always easy to tell the difference when firing on someone with 0 SYS pips vs 4.

Wait a minute. Isn't this the same Diamondback Scout that people were saying is a useless ship when it was first released?

Well, it just goes to show... internet users are just like Jon Snow. :D

Pretty good keeping shields up - when you were checking the modules was that to switch stuff off for shields to recharge quicker?

I take pride in my ship builds prioritizing toughness over everything else. It was a contributing factor in my shields staying up for as long as they did. I actually wasted a bank during the fight. Had I not done that, I don't believe my shields would of gone offline. I was checking modules to keep an eye on my bank ammo, switch bank modules, and when the time came, switch off boosters for a faster shield recharge time.

i dont think they were all gunning soley for you - it was like a free for all.

I was focus fired often throughout the engagement by both NPCs and CMDRs. I'm wanted in pretty much every system. It really gives CMDRs in a group incentive to gun solely for me.

I take it there arent repair nanobots to fix the canopy then?

Oh did you make it back? :D

It really is too bad that there are no canopy repair nanobots. Unfortunately, I did not make it back due to Stratigamo Jokingly interdicting me just before I could safely disengage at Adams Orbital. Had he not done that, I would of had plenty of time to make it back to port for repairs. It was quite hilarious and he apologized for the inconvenience.

I have to ask, I see all these video's of people with pure multi cannon setups and granted I haven't done much pvp but it would seem to me that a person that is ready for a pvp fight would use a mixed setup to take out shields quickly and then pummel hull? shields needing to be taken out quicker because of shield boosters? which non of those seemed to have?

Some people use a mixed setup. Others choose an all laser based setup. Then there are those like myself who's sole priority is toughness when outfitting a ship for combat. A pure multi-cannon setup helps to ensure that this goal is met.

Hey OP, you probably don't remember me, I'm CMDR Cruel Rabbit. I was flying in a courier, you were in an asp? You interdicted me and attacked without so much as a demand for cargo or anything. I wasn't aligned to any PP faction at the time, and I didn't have a bounty. I escaped (barely), but you interdicted me again and destroyed my ship. I had a chat with some guy in local chat and he said he had dealings with you in the past, and that such behavior was very out of character for you.

So I can learn something useful from the destruction of my ship - why did you attack me? Were you just having a bad day? What triggered your behavior? Should I have just given you a big hug?

Great video looks very intense and fun
However I really feel that multicannons might be a little bit too strong vs shields, as it stands now the only really good pvp setup is stacking them so you don't have to worry about power to weps and have plenty of powerplant juice leftover for boosters. Maneuverability is of course also key, but even then I worry about a dual large pulse vulture going up against a build like this and looking gimped. Energy weps aren't really good for use outside PvE bounty hunting due to the energy drain making it difficult to stack shield cells and the need for pips in weps to function well and only good there because they don't use ammo so you can stay in the field popping NPC's longer. I'm not one to ask for nerfs but I think something must be done to make other builds more viable.
Just my opinion. That said I just clicked follow on a certain commanders twitch tv channel :)

Thanks, it was very intense for sure. Personally, I don't think multi-cannons are too strong against shields or that other weapon builds are not viable in PvP. It really comes down to personal preference and how you like your ships. Some like them as tough as possible while others like glass cannons. I really appreciate the follow man!

I'm not a fan of (multi)cannons.. but seeing you use 4 at once was pretty cool.
Unbelievable how long your shields stayed up, even when the python was present.

Good watch... also 'Screw bugging out!' amused me greatly

Every time I watch the video, I can't help but laugh at that particular part.

Good to see someone having fun.. But multi cannons? expensive waste of ammo, get at least one shield peeler on even a pulse laser would do. Also shield cell banks, not a fan, they should remove them from the game, and boy do people like to bug out for the loss of a crappy little ship. Massive kudos for you to carry on with the smashed canopy.
