I don't have all that accounts you listed above and don't use it. I prefer try to talk in system chat...and it is easier to do when u see commander flying around.
So my example just shows you're wrong in your conclusions. And nobody counted how many people like me exist.

What your post says is that you are, whether that is your intention or not, going to places where the gankers hang out, then, in spite of it not being illegal from the EULA, demanding that something be done about them after you have (intentionally?) put yourself in harm's way.

As to using yourself as a statistical universe, I suppose valuing yourself above me is only to be expected, but, when you throw out any data that doesn't agree with your conclusions, there is a truism for that - Figures never lie, but liars figure.

My logic applies to your conclusion that nobody use system chat and everybody talk in facebook, that's why topic starter is wrong.
In that point I complete agree with him, I cannot make new friends using system chat because gankers force me to play Mobius etc.

They will not interfere unless the gameplay turns into harassment and/or griefing.

1) You can block him
And you'll have a nicer experience in open

This is good advice. I don't endorse blocking because it screws instancing as a whole, but whatever.

Or... you can engineer your ship and:

• put in the large hardpoints torpedo launchers with reverb cascade, he will bail the moment he loses shields. Then you can land and rearm
• in addition put some cannons with force shell and watch him crash in the ground... you can combine that with torpedoes.
• learn to fly a small ship and git gud with flechettes... those big shields will be useless.
• and well... there are many more ways for you to turn his gameplay against him (including the lame ones like switching into solo, land, then switch into open and advertise in /system his camping)

Avoid going to choke points (like Deciat) in Open.

The engineering advice is rather bad advice. Torpedoes are easy to dodge for 120 seconds in any ship except a Type 9/10 and you can still do damage while avoiding them. Force shells are a mild annoyance at best and I doubt that most gank victims are good enough to use fixed cannons. Flechettes are patently terrible. They are the hardest weapon to aim in the game for frankly underwhelming results and countered by "have an MRP".

Yes, of course they are. Yet i've seen even FDL's taking torpedoes up their arxes.
And a Cutter is not really agile, plus the terrain will limit some of its ability to maneuver.
And not at last it will spice things up... (Mines are also nice)

Cannons do come in gimbaled versions too... but meh... noobs can learn to fight or at least annoy gankers.
Not at last, to block them, then taunt them a bit.

@Big Malibu - The fact of the matter, and I am NOT a PvP player, is that, except at choke points, you don't meet the majority of the player base in game.

You either DM them here on forums, or they are part of a Discord or other communication medium. You go find them on Facebook, Youtube, etc and engage them through third party communications. Elite doesn't even have particularly good chat mechanisms as a busy channel requires that you pay attention to the chat window instead of flying.

Then, you are ignoring the fact that outside of those choke points, you can fly for days, if not weeks, without encountering another player.

All of that means that your argument is flawed. So, yeah, it sucks to get blown up by some... person whose biggest enjoyment of the game is Online Disinhibition Effect. Get over it, find a PG like Mobius or FleetCom, and play with people that aren't in the game because they can abuse you without consequence.

Trust me, you remembering them while they forget you is exactly what they want.

however, we can be sure that with more balanced combat and engagement rules, more cmdrs would be encouraged to play in the Open, right?

Ah, so you throw the entire argument out based on one element....

So, the only place you can "make friends" is Open system chat? Let's run with that, shall we. You can sit in the station and see the System chat, completely safe from harm. You can sit in Solo and see system chat, completely safe from harm. You can sit in a Private Group and listen to system chat, completely safe from harm.

Oh, fudge, the chat client doesn't support your position. What next?

during a reconnaissance I caught a serial Ganker at work in the act. Using big eng ships against small & medium (or transport/exp ships) in a unfair way with no real consequences.
this way of unfair playing discourages most players, who will eventually all play solo, ruining one of the best features of the game: meeting and sharing the galaxy of ED together.
in addition, beginners may drop the game after a while.

Fdev: some simple tricks could improve everything for everyone:

• extend the starports NO FIRE ZONE radius and improve fines and police counteract and intervention
• exacerbate bounty method: notoriety on (just like when we fire on authorities) after several kills on clean and non-attacking players
• no docking in any port if you reach high levels of assassinations and bounties on your head
• no rank % on combat if you kill clean and/or non attacking ships

the point is: you have fun and you like to gank and play this sad way?
ok, its an open game for eveyone but you know there will at least be consequences, and continuing to do so will make it harder and harder for you to play.
just like it would happen in reality right?

Just block every single one of them. You will be able to instance with all the other Cmdrs to pve or explore together and they will not be able to instance with you. By now most of the gankers are circle killing each other because a lot of players have them blocked. Feels good.

Well that's just laughable. If you understood how instancing worked, how blocking worked, and how blocking messed up the potential for third party instancing with people not on block lists, then you'd know that the only change that could alleviate this would be to remove blocking (or make it useless).

Nope, because the engagement rules won't apply to the criminals, also known as, If guns are outlawed, then, only outlaws will have guns. Engagement rules are for militaries that agree to conventions of war.

As to your presumption, I was referring to inhabited space, not deep explorations when I spoke of not encountering people. Even with 12 Million accounts, you won't get a geographical dispersion, you'll get population centric clumps.

To your BGS comments, anyone who knows me probably finds you hilarious, but not in a complimentary way. I suggest, next time, you research your insults Before you use them.

As an experienced player I strongly disagree with this statement, in fact I find gankers quite entertaining as they pose a real challenge unlike regular NPCs.

But I consider it sport to not grant a ganker a rebuy.
