Voice Attack command causes game screen to jump back to Steam main screen

I have HCS Voicepacks and the EDDI add on which is opened at the same time as the HCS Singularity Voice pack inside of VA. It all gets recognized and passed with green dots alongside. In the game, all commands are recognized and EDDI provides data (I don't issue EDDI commands and there are only 76 of them that show in the profile file.) Singularity appears to be co-existing with EDDI with the usual complaint of occasional overlapping. But, after working for a day or so, now when I ask for a command to be executed, say "Navigation" which is a call to Singularity, the screen goes blinky and reverts back to the main Steam launch screen.
The game works fine manually, but that's not how I want to play.
I actually didn't start out to incorporate EDDI when this all began. The integration with Singularity is one with a lot of Forum entries across the net and a number of different opinions are out there. I added EDDI to VA a while back but haven't done much with it since the trouble I was having integrating it with Singularity. Basically, it never worked.
Yesterday, after a few hours of research on data apps, I added Captains Log 2 and then ED Discovery. I used to play a lot of Eve and I like stats so these two seemed like naturals. Installing ED Discovery I needed to get an API key, and apparently, it led me to EDDI, where I installed an API from Frontier, and after that, I was surprisingly getting EDDI info through my Singularity, or maybe it was coming from EDDI outside of Singularity. That was great.
But in order to see the ED Discovery app in game, you have to add Borderless to your mix so you can display outside apps. I did that, and it worked OK for a bit and then I was unable to exit the now borderless as opposed to full-screen game without a hard shutoff.
That created a KB error screen that was solved with a few keyboard presses on startup, and the game worked with the usual start, but the VA opening screen now showed that it was incorporating EDDI into the opening sequence. It's what I was trying to do before abandoning the effort. My opening sequence was Borderless, VA, ED Discovery, Steam, ED.
After a few blinky screen jumps out of the game and back to the main Steam Screen, I uninstalled the Borderless Steam app, and went back into the game after opening VA in administrative, then Steam, then ED. Same result, which is:
Voice command, Singularity acknowledgment of the command, then instead of executing the command, I get a jump back to the main screen where I can return to the game by entering through a black ED icon in the tray. But once back in game the command hasn't executed.
The game responds to stick and mouse commands. When I shut the game and VA down there is an ED executable running in the background and that has to be shut with the task manager.
Any thoughts?

if you just open voice attack with no eddi or elite running apart from the eddi va pluggin
and you just open notepad and click in its window
now when you speak a voice command it will print of the keystokes that are being pressed maybe that will shed some light on why it sounds like its alt tabbing out
if you manually repeat those keystrokes in the game
hope that makes sense......
it maybe if you edit a VA command and select option send command to this target window(active window) may have a positive effect(sorry don't use any hcs voicepacks I made my own)

thanks, I'm back into borderless and the screen is working. I lost some keybinds with my HOTAS and HCS but the game seems to be working now and I guess I'll be learning keybinding now. Thanks for the support.
