Vote here for keyboard control (Yep or Nope)

Yep Project cars 1 and 2 users did the same on PS4... they built custom keyboard rebuilds to act as a car dash board on there racing car seats and steering wheels set ups...
inside is just a Basic Keyboard USB chipset wired up to actual car mechanical switches... Then all they had to do was work out if they want left or right hand drive and place it on the correct side...

I'm gonna say no.

As far as consoles go, you don't have to buy extra peripherals. And if you do, for a game like this, it should be a HOTAS.

You don't play flight sims with a M&Kb. I fail to see them as worthwhile in this game.

Before someone starts thowing gibberish like "Precision" and "Ease of use" around. A good pilot with a HOTAS, is easily as good as a pilot on a M&Kb.

Moreover, you get a very much wider range of avalible movements at your disposal.

For typing, yeah sure, for gameplay? Nty.

Of course you play flight sims with a keyboard, a PC flight sim has dozens of controls and unless you have full stick/throttle/pedal systems you're going to be quite reliant on a keyboard, even if you have a Hotas! If you're talking about PS4 flight sims, then the control system is massively simplified, but it hasn't been on Elite.

You're missing the point raised. It's not about actual about gameplay, it's about the number of controls vs the binding combinations of the controller. There are too many controls to be bound, it's near (if not already) impossible and you'd have to have an androids brain to instantly recall every single permutation, and which control is binded to that specific combination. The last big update tipped the scales leavng several controls unbound.

It's a f ing joke that a game this size is only playable with a DS4 or Hotas (no more binding options than the DS4). What's even more of a joke is Frontiers excuse for not implementing keyboard control. A DS4 in the UK is about £50, Hotas can be got for £69. The price of a keyboard/mouse? £15 would get you up and running!!!

This used to be my main playing game, now I hardly touch it. I certainly wouldn't recommend buying to a new player just because of this reason.

Has anyone ever directly raised this issue with Frontier via Twitter and the rest? I don't use none of that stuff otherwise I'd hound them for it every single day. Let them know it's a big problem, and let them know publicly so everyone else can see it as well!! Maybe bad publicity might smack them in the head.

Why No? I don't think anyone wanting keyboard support is looking for WASD controls, they are looking for Keybindings for commands like opening one of the dozens of new controls added in the last 6 months. A PS4 Controller or HOTAS only has so many buttons to bind commands to without having to be a g contortionist to open up the Detailed Surface Scanner, or having to hold L3+R1+X+O to turn on ship lights or one of the other DOZENS of commands in the game. There are so many features it would be nice to use but Hey, every time I try to think of a button or button combo to bind it to, it's already in use by a different function on a totally different panel or mode.

From what I have seen, the few who talk of the mini-keyboard or chat pad are thinking we only want Keyboard support for Text Input. We need it for Commands.

YES by a far margin.

I'm willing to bet, near 100% of PS4 players would rather invest in a nice basic Logitech K120 than hesitate to deploy landing gear in fear of boosting into the station back wall.

I have finished complete games in less time than I have spent in the ED Options > Controls screen.

A keyboard is cheaper than a TM HOTAS which is already an additional investment yet considered completely acceptable.

I fail to see how increased optionality would be a problem for anyone.
