Wait... what is happening atm? Npc and conflict zones. Please FD be frank about it:]

So glad we have your comprehensive testing to rely on.

thanks but hardly needed to be comprehensive, especially as I've seen this type of bug before with the NPC's,
I mean a quick search of the forum will bring up many bug reports of similar behavior with the npc as recently as the last beta.

Maybe you Failed to Understand the Definition of "Game"

""
an activity that one engages in for amusement.
"a computer game"
""

If you find it Amusing to Fight for your Life I suggest to become a Soldier and Travel to an Crisis Region of your Choice *gg*

I just logged in for a minute from where I left my ship last night, a haz res in an anarchy system, targeted the first Dangerous Python I saw, and let him have it.

The fight lasted around thirty seconds. He slowly circled around me in a lazy arc, conveniently putting himself in my sights while I popped his shields and melted his power supply. He never once fired a shot back at me.

How thrilled you must be, Sunleader. It's finally safe to go back into the game:)

They merely Fixed a good Amount of Bugs with the NPCs. And this WAS Announced in the Patchnotes. One very Importand one being that NPCs had an Higher Turning Rate on Low Speeds than their Ship should actually Possibly be able to. Which allowed them to Stay behind Players
You have to be joking. That could easily be beatin by flying backwards. There was no need to nerf that.

So you have gleamed all this not from your own personal experience but via a cursory look through the forums. How remarkably thorough you are, remind me to consult with you again in the future for your expert advice.

Idk I'm starting to think it's impossible to balance NPCs correctly with ED's slow paced space combat. They're either too easy or too hard. I've never seen an in between.

I'd call that a bug, I've been doing high RES, and they were certainly firing back at me, but yes, their maneuvering does appear slower.

Haven't logged in today. The first time a patch has been released and I've not logged in. Strange times. With lobotomised AI there is even less reason to log in. Sad times for this game.
Ditto. While downloading the patch, I decided to come here to see what this big update was about only to be horrified of the awful news. I won't be logging in until Frontier addresses this. There's point in playing this game if there's no challenge to be had.

That's the spirit. Don¨t even try the game. Just believe the people on the internet. ;)
I believe the patch notes. AI turning is nerfed (and this apparently means that the spin of death or a variant of it has returned). Only NPCs of similar combat rank will try to interdict you (that means only easy "expert" AIs for me when I could hold my own against master and above).

I have modded weps but the ELITE NPC almost never fires back. I have NO special effects. Ai is as bad as most of commanders :(

Must have been a bugged NPC.. I've experienced it before. That said, you are in a conda with modded weapons..

I really think you don't.

Games can be difficult and still entertaining.

See University Challenge, The Crystal Maze, The Krypton Factor, The Olympics etc.

You have wrongly interpreted that games have to be casual to be entertaining for either the audience or tge player.

Never heard of these Games.
Well not Surprising as Hardcore Games are usually not becoming very Successful.

Dark Souls was an Golden Example of where Difficult is Fun.
They always stayed Consistent with Rules no Enemy could Cheat.
They all had the exactly same Limitations and Rules you Followed.
And if you got Killed you always knew exactly what went wrong and could get back there within short time.

Sorry Mate.
But the Entire Game System of Elite is not Cut Out for this Type of Game.
The Grind is too much.
The Loss is too High.
The NPCs so far have never been Skilled but simply have been Cheating and Ignoring Rules.
And most of all. The Game started out as Exploration and Open World Fun Game. Not as Hardcore.
Meaning that changing it to Hardcore afterwards would be a Fraud and (as could be seen) Result in a Massive loss of Peoples Trust.
It will likely take Weeks before the Bad Steam Reviews we got over the Killer NPCs will get to Normal Levels again. And likely the Impact wont even be Repaired entirely.

Maybe you've failed to understand the definition of a challenge.

Today I was driving an 6000 Thousand Ton Tracked Vehicle And thats by far not the Heaviest of the Machine I am driving on Work everyday.
This means making Decisions which Cost Several Thousands of Euros regardless of being right or wrong, needed or wasted.
A Wrong Button, A Switch in the Wrong Position or simply moving One of the Joystick the wrong way in a Hectic Situation. Can go into Damages way beyond what you Guys Earn in an Entire Year of Work or might cause someone to be Injured or Killed.
If your Driving a Machine in which you wont even Notice that your Running over an Car or are Destroying Steel carriers the Size of your Head you have more than Enough Challenge my Friend.

I dont need any additional Challenges Forced onto me in Games.
If I feel like taking some additional Thrills or Challenges I.ll Play Dark Souls where I dont lose Hours of Grinding if I fail :)

No Offense Mate.
But I had the exactly Same Situation with an Anaconda in a Haz Res Zone 4 Days Ago.
Its a well known Bug which has been around forever.

Sometimes NPCs just somehow dont Shoot at all or very Little.
Doing nothing but Flying in Circles.
Or Shooting only with 1 of 6 Weapons the Entire Time etc.

its not something related to this Update.

You do know they lifted the rank restrictions on accepting missions, yes?

God, you do like long winded posts, I can imagine all your conversations are fairly one sided. You'd think with that kind of hand to eye coordination and razor sharp decision making abilities you`d defeat wings of elite NPC`s, or it could be just more waffle.
I`ll have to reserve judgement on this one, any chance of a video of you skills, it may be interesting.

If your Working somewhere you should know that its not allowed to make Videos of your Work and Publish them.
And I wont be going to Apply for the Permission to Publish a Video just to Prove something to a Random Internet User ;)

I can however show you what sort of Videos End up on YouTube WHEN someone in my Job makes a Mistake.

It's a tactic. First always say 'no offense mate, but..' then proceed to bore you to tears with a rehash of already settled points. It's an attempt to exhaust you with tedium without ever having to make a single cogent point. A pawn removing a Rook by going back and forth via a series of repeated illegal maneuvers.

Just stop playing chess with a checkers fan, and you'll be ok.
