Seeing as us PC players are being moved to this new system in the name of 'parity' can we at least get the multiple cmdrs per account that console players get?
You'll have to take that up with Microsoft & Sony.

Only way FD could have stopped "free alts" is by never releasing the game on console. "Free alts" applies to all games on console, not just ED.

Educate yourself.

Could you possibly explain to ignorant me, who hasn't had a console since Playstation 2 (yep, honestly) .... why Console players for Elite Dangerous (not talking about other games) can have multiple commanders, but PC players can't? I am honestly interested in your opinion on how and why that is fair.

WAIT .... WHAT?

Due to the way consoles handle player accounts (not FD accounts, but general accounts) you can have multiple accounts on consoles. Its not an ED specific thing, its just how a 'one save per account' thing works when you can add accounts on consoles.

Because game-sharing is a feature of the network (Xbox Live, PSN), not the game.

It's only a small advantage, but the payback...
it will mean that you play only with controller or joystick, no other fluff as in relative mouse, no Keyboard bindings, no Voice Attack and the likes.
Oh, and pay a subscription if you want to play in Open or in Private Groups.
And 30fps
And other... things

I wonder who of you guys screamed "ARX" when it comes to the question "What feature would you like to see next"?

Honestly - one out of 100.000?

The mere fact that FDev are listening to the community, and have been extremely responsive to the wishes of the community in the past, does not mean they should only add features you specifically asked for.
In the end we are not the developers of this game. I have not asked for this feature, but I am fine with it. The only thing I truly deplore is the on-the-fly changing of skins. I think that should only be possible in stations.

Yep'. There's a reason my Xbox has sat idle for five months now...

But let's face it. This boils down to "They have it so I want it!"

Nevermind that game-sharing has nothing to do with FD...

You want consoles to lose "free alts"? You're going to have to petition Sony and Microsoft to change EULA so that one may only have one account. Good luck with that LOL...

We don't want to take free alts from consoles, we just want the free alts that we were meant to get from way back long before ED even ported to consoles
Again, you'll have to take it up with Microsoft & Sony. Consoles getting free alts is just a technical reality of releasing on that platform.

AKA: You're beating a dead horse.

No offence or disrespect intended towards yourself, but I have no interest in getting to know Frontier Points or Arx. That is why many of us are not happy about this.
Quite frankly, I find it insulting that console players take the "We had to do it that way, so it's obviously ok" attitude. (I'm not accusing you, Northpin, of that btw just that that's how the response seems to be split - mainly console players are ok with it, and PC players seem to be split 50/50)

Read as: “ I won’t bother to educate myself on the issue, I just want to be mad”

They are just vanity items, you don't really need them for anything. FDev likely can't keep developing this game if it isn't profitable though.

I just hope they won't add angel wing packs for Asp scouts, super flashy Thargoid weapon effects, special Guardian FSD loading sequences and voice acted NPC's talking about Bank of Zaonce and how you probably should buy some ARX points to get that neat plasma accelerator skin that's like regular but orange and has a sparkly effect. That would be a bit immersion breaking, but not that unheard in video games really.

Wow .... asking someone to explain something to me is now regarded as not bothering to educate myself. That's a big leap there.
(see? I can be condescending and sarcastic as well.)

EDIT 2: Mike, please also notice that when Un1k0rn replied to my comment, I didn't tell him he was wrong, an idiot, make him feel stupid or be condescending and sarcastic to him. Yet you decided out of the blue to do that to me in response to a comment that wasn't aimed at you to begin with.

He posted a link that explains frontier points, you responded saying you’re not interested in getting to know them. This implies you didn’t read the link and chose to operate without relevant information.

If that’s not the case, then be more clear.

Errr, this is the line he quoted:
"No offence or disrespect intended towards yourself, but I have no interest in getting to know Frontier Points or Arx."

That isn't 'asking someone to explain something', that is literally saying you don't want to know something. I can sympathize with not being a native speaker, but you want to be a bit milder when picking words to prevent such responses. :)

Why should I be interested in Frontier Points/Arx? Why should I have to be happy about a system that is designed to rip people off? I don't want the system the way Frontier want to implement it. Why is that so hard for some people on this forum to accept?
