We are never going to find Raxxla, are we?

If a number of people who were there (and that includes me) say it was said, is not proof enough for you .... it can't be proved PROVED, because it was said by a Frontier employee to an individual and it wasn't recorded. So the best you will ever get at this time, is someone saying it was said.

Now ... if Michael Brookes happens to re-confirm it ....
So, if you were there, of course you have the empirical evidence, records, fake dossier, pictures so that the "I heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who heard it from the guy who was sitting at the next table from the Fd employee who actually said it" rumor becomes the "I was sitting next to the guy who was sitting next to the guy at the table next to the table where he heard it from the guy who was sitting next to the FD employee who said it" rumor? (🤪 yes I'm just being silly.)

Oye! My head is spinning, I'm gonna go take a laxative then lay down. 😝

I'm actually going to be looking for a jump gate.

I'm so glad you put that you were being silly. Because this was getting a little out of hand.

The only evidence I have seen for myself is the live stream interview where Michael Brookes (sorry if the spelling is a little wrong?) said that Raxxla is "in the Milky Way Galaxy" and "a journey that every commander must take for themselves" or words to that effect.

I would say that Raxxla does is exist in the game due to the following facts.

1) Michael Brookes said yes its in the Milky Way Galaxy.

2) It is mentioned very clearly in the Codex. In-game.

This still doesn't mean we will find it soon or ever, but for me those two things really do confirm that Raxxla exists. But who knows in what form?

(Remember how cynical a lot of us can be, the first video evidence of Thargoid encounters looked like nothing we had ever seen before, and many just wrote it off as a fake)

PS If you've read this far it means you also love the Cobra.MK IV and it's your favourite ship too, can't take it back now!!

I think that rumor that it was honked is true.. Discoverable ? Let me make, or restate, a few assumptions.

1: Raxxla has been in the game since before Horizons ( at least ).
2: It can't be on a planet, since pre-horizons that would have been impossible.
This assumes FDEV was truthful. That is, it's in the game AND can be discovered. Not that it's in the game, and locked away via permit or mechanic ( 300_ LY jump range )
3: It is supposed to be reachable with a Sidey, or at most a Cobra.

Given those three assumptions, the rumor COULD be very true. I happen to think it is, as there is/was no reason to lie about it, let alone keep on.

So IF the rumor was true.. then what did the CMDR see ? Or not see ? If it can't be a planet, then it has to be in orbit around a celestial body.. Some kind of POI ? I lean toward the idea its a station of some kind. In the old "Honk-n-Jump" days, many CMDRs didn't even look at the system data, and if they did, a station wouldn't have been scene as remarkable. I know I scanned a lot of systems, and if I didn't see a little ball the right color ( ELW or WW ), I jumped out. I wouldn't have bothered with a station unless I absolutely NEEDED repairs, and that's assuming I looked at the scan. There were many forums discussions on explorer CMDRs just scanning ELWs and leaving the rest behind, versus the completion-ist ( OCD diagnosed ) CMDRs who scanned everything. So, the rumor fits nicely with known CMDR behavior at the time of the rumors beginning.

My question would be at this point, IF the system was honked, what would you see ? A normal station ? A special station ( like a CNB, but in station form ) ?

I've suggested this before, but let me re-suggest. What if a group started at Sol, and began moving outward, scanning EVERY system, and EVERY body in those systems ? We could at the very least, know where Raxxla is NOT. Granted, the larger the sphere got the grater the number of bodies, but we'd have a plan, and a working one, versus what we have now, which is... well... nothing.

Someone in the thread posted this notion (I'm not going back to look for it) and it kind of struck me as a very plausible one. "Roxxla is actually a Stargate".
Perhaps it's also a stargate that leads to the other dimension in which Raxxla actually exists?

Actually yes, but unfortunately, mine won't show up in the stored ship menu. Toothless, my beautiful cargo hauler with teeth, took out its fair share of CMDRs in Pythons when Engineering was still new and jenky.

I'd be willing to accept this idea from a story perspective. As a gamer, I'd LOVE to see this be true.. BUT, as a game player, I'd have to accept that there was a whole new galaxy, or dimension, or something, that has been just sitting there for years un-used in the game. From a game design standpoint, that is a horrible thought. Servers, or server resources, sitting unused is also bad business.

My thoughts on "Raxxla" and discovering it are centering around a few things. If it's a "Journey" it might be metaphysical, meaning that while it might be a physical place, you can't get there just by punching coordinates. Much like ShinDez, it's there, but unless you meet a certain criteria you won't make it. Or Tanelorn, for those who appreciate fantasy Lit, a city you'll never find until you're ready for it. Some of the 'knowns' about it say as much, you'll be contacted discretely, and given a test to see if you're worthy. I also think it has to be a highly access limited "place" . So, no n00b-a-condas .. Kind of like ShinDez used to be. I would be VERY disappointed if ( once discovered ) Raxxla was just another place to visit.

If you buy into the metaphysical argument, and put it in terms of the game, then... you have to accomplish something.. Triple Elite ? Many have done this ( Myself included ). Admiral/King ? Again, been and done.. Billionaire ? That would be silly.. What else do we do in game ? Travel a million LYs ? Some of the big explorers should have this.. Hours in game ? Mining ?

What it is, and what it does ? Unlimited FSD boost, but only AWAY from the system ? Special engineer ? They sell MATs like Tellurium ? Class 4 railguns ? Maybe it's a one way trip to the other dimension ?

I made that observation earlier, that having unused servers sitt idle seems like it would be a waste of financial resources. But then again, maybe they have the capital to waste?

I just hope your wrong about the strictest of access qualifications.
However I do like your line of reasoning.

How sad an desperate the playerbase is for content, that one of the most compelling features of the game is a non-feature.

I think it would be far more interesting if PLAYERS would use their fleet carriers to create myths, or duplicate them (Flying Dutchman, Hy-Brasil, Plague Ship, Fairy Ring, Hotel California, Battlestar Gallactica etc.).

Without Brooks, this story is as dead as all but one of the generation ships anyways.

Link please.
And this is where I have to look an idiot.
Never let it be said I don't admit my mistakes. I'm not going to make excuses, but I will explain why I was wrong.

Until today, I hadn't actually watched the DJ Truthsayer interview, and got it wrong when I in an earlier post, claimed Michael said something in that interview he didn't actually say.

For that, I apologise

I reckon it's been made inaccessible / very hard to find due to a permit lock until the content has been fully created.
Much like the couple of annies that were updated in to a generation ship at the Formidine Rift, there's probably a standard asset there that will be expanded upon later - that way FD can honestly say its in the game and accessible from launch.
If we find it now then it'll be disappointment as all lore is suspended due to lack of FD interest and will probably be a cobra called "raxxla" floating about.
When FD decide to care about lore again it'll be a land of magical fun-ness full of unicorns - probably accessed via whatever is the current expansion they're trying to flog.

If it's lave 2 then FD have pretty much nicked the plot to one of Drew's books from oolite, which would be a self referencing black hole :D
