We do not want our Paintjobs "closer" to what they looked like...

And anything emissive seems entirely gone. But the ELW next to Mitterand's appears to be a Class B star now, so there is that! ;)
Depends when. My first visit after the full release was like that, and new africa was a big milky glowing white ball, a more recent visit was closer to what it used to look like, although still lighter. Their combined relative position to their parent star i matters i think.

I don't even know why they bother to be honest. It's obviously much more fun for people to imagine that they've said things and then criticise them for not meeting the imaginary benchmarks that they never actually set to begin with.
Oh well, a mediocre playerbase deserves the mediocre management at FD and visa versa. Sucks for the Devs and sane players but I feel sorry for neither FD management nor the weirder parts of the community. :)
was another who is also called Arthur 🤣 🤦‍♂️

Again, and I respect you don't understand English, but he didn't say it.

well, he transmitted it to the forums, if that is more exact, lol 🤦‍♂️

Oh yeah. I've spent quite a bit (not as much as some people, but more than most players) on ARX over the years, and the graphics in Odyssey (not just the paint jobs, but the heavy contrast destroying the appearance of space, the ships, everything) have absolutely put me in a position where I'll never ever give them money again unless Odyssey eventually looks roughly the same as Horizons. Tweak the lighting for the new FPS parts where you want specific lighting for tactical gameplay reasons. But don't ruin the rest of the game in the process. Just because the lead designer likes a black boring starscape everywhere isn't a justifiable reason to destroy the look of a game we've been playing for years. It's so awful, they've completely killed any chance of me being a customer in the future. What an awful, stupid series of decisions they've made to get to this point where I won't even boot up Odyssey because it looks so bad. Nice "upgrade" of the graphics engine.
I think the new space 'blackness' is a massive improvement! It looks and feels more realistic, the skybox feelsa like it has more depth to it, the Milky Way and Nebulae look alot deeper with richer colours...... I've even had to turn the UI brightness down because the dash/HUD in my ship was too vibrant!
It definitely is an upgrade AFAIC!

The space blackness is because of broken renderer, here is an example.
Pay attention to Orion Nebula which becomes brighter as smoke covers it. Same with the whole skybox.

I'm already tired of people that are defending bugs, introduced with Odyssey...

Some parts of the radar are too bright but if you look up to the dialogue boxes at the top of the HUD they are too dark to read unless you've messed around with your gamma, also the space dust is too dark to be usefully visible now.

Arthur didn't say that.
Road map has only 3 updates - being kind and optimistic let's assume that fixes all the bugs - because the post is actually vague and misleading and doesn't list any of the major issues, so since they don't name any issue we have no clue if they will be fixed or not - but it does say that PC version will get the benefit of the optimisations done for consoles - he did not say we would get those 'before' the console release. So I stand by my statement ( which was intended as sarcasm, but I guess some people struggle with that and some struggle to have any sense of humour when it comes to FDev products - which is understandable I guess - I'm not laughing, it's too damn sad ).

Who else is excited to get their PC version downgraded to something that runs on a device from 2013 ? Personally my hardware is all 'reasonable' mid range from 2015 - but struggles to cope with Odyssey ( no problems at all with Horizons on Ultra ). It's crazy that I get better frame rates in Cyberpunk than in Odyssey( at the same resolution )

I don't see it getting brighter at all.... it gets 'faded' by the smoke/steam/whatever it is, if anything - it's definitely more vibrant before the smoke covers it! I honestly can't see the problem you are describing...
I really don't see anything wrong with the new skybox lighting - Stars look better, Nebulae look better and more distant, the blackness looks deeper... Nothing broken about the way Space is being drawn.

We want them EXACTLY as they looked like when we bought them. Basically all my Paintjobs i bought are now ugly and i would have never bought them as they are now.

I am talking 30+ or even more of them. What options do i have? Because i am am preeeeetty sure they will not get refunded.
Actually I found one that looked now better and gave me a Star Wars feeling. So not all of them are bad.
But those that really suck should be changed.

It's not sarcasm, it's just factually wrong. Sarcasm needs a bit more effort. What he says is there will be a few more patches with 'many improvements" (lol), followed by a stretch of silence presumably leading to bigger improvements with the console launch.

I don't think that is a very positive message, but he in no way at all implied they would fix all bugs soon and pretending he did is just disingenuous.

disingenuous - I do like that word - I thought implying that all the bugs would be fixed WAS a clear clue to being sarcasm, nobody in their right mind expects that to ever happen.
If I wanted to be totally boring I could say that they implied they are not planning on any more updates on the PC after update 5 and before the console release. Which implies they expect the majority of bugs to be fixed at this point - or - they just don't give a ... about PC players, we can suffer what ever bugs are left for the rest of the duration of the beta ( that they refuse to admit they are running )

Anyone that thinks that the 150+ bugs fixed in Update 1 and 180+ bugs fixed in Update 2 where all new bugs that where not known prior to the release on the 19th is deluding themselves. The majority of those bugs were already known and logged and had probably already been started on before 19th of May. They knew they would have to fix the UI's after all the feedback from the Alpha, they would have known that most hardware configs would get bad performance - but they simply ran out of time - hence they decided late to split the player base with Horizon and Odyssey so only the Odyssey players had to suffer the UI and the performance and lighting bugs. The fact that they are clinging to this lie that they are surprised by the quality of the release is frankly pathetic and needs to stop - they need to come clean and admit they screwed up and give us a real action plan for getting Odyssey to a decent playable state.

I can agree with all of that. :)

Most of the things they chose to fix didn't even need fixing anyway, there was about 30 audio tweaks that no one cared about compared to the monstrous glaring omissions that the community has banged on about for years so really it was clutching at low hanging fruit saying "Hey look we're doing something, don't stop spending money guys!"

I find it hilarious after looking it over with a friend:

Carrier paint jobs are using their Horizons image icons; yet when you mouse over them in the Livery, some are completely different shades than their actual card.
