Weapon Test Data - where to find?

For several Odyssey engineer upgrades you need to supply Weapon test data (quantities of 10).
I am not seeing this offered as a mission reward.

Anyone know a reliable way to obtain it whilst playing the game?

I was afraid you'd say that. Only ever managed to get 1 so far...
I wonder if there is a particular settlement type which has a higher RND chance?
Do you happen to know which building type? CMD, Power, Ind, HAB, etc?

IIRC command data points can have them, but you are far more likely to gather enough from mission rewards.

I've got a few Weapon Test Data from mission boards in Fullerene C60. I can't seem to find any Opinion Polls though... I wonder why all materials are not available from missions or to trade...

use inara.cz to find out which are mission rewards. The weapon test data is fairly easy to get. Especially if you have high REP and can negotiate a lot.

I don't think the negotiation tip is all that helpful to someone looking for specific data. The chances that one of the mission providers will offer the reward you want and a compatible mission are really low.

Sorting the entire mission board by material reward will get you some weapon test data more quickly.

Anything from mission providers is a bonus, but you can't rely on them.

The material increase is sometimes 100%. I had missions for manufacturing Instructions that yield 10 of them. So I do think there is value to it. Now if you are only looking for one material/data.. Then looking for/finding the right NPC mission giver is likely not an effective use of time.

Yea. I’m look for a particular material so I can engineer a specific mod. Negotiations are useful but chances of them offering what I need are low.
