Weapon Types of Odyssey

Think about it though, could any of the personal weapons be stronger than a small hardpoint weapon? They did mention a "sphere of combat".
They probably shouldn't be, doesn't mean they won't be :)

Well, more :/ or :(
I don't mind a bit of realism..

Or, the SWORDSPLOSION! - a shotgun that launches swords at your opponent. Approved of by Mr Torgue.

!!!

There seem to be energy-based sniper rifles, assault rifles, pistols (sidearms), mines and shields. It should have at least the standard range of FPS devices. Such as anti-aircraft and anti-vehicle weapons, shotguns and melee weapons. What kind of weapons do you want in ED Odyssey?

I see only 2 type of weapons there.

But i do want a:
Sniper rifle, the One Shot Good Kill type.
A Flak cannon (UT style, also fits the ED lore and their Frags)
A Shock rifle - kinda rail gun type, but with the UT Combo.

That all sounds like fun, but there I'll be: dragging my travois stacked with chicken coops across a hostile landscape and laughing all the way to the bank.

Will you be collecting the chickens after the battle? I could see this being the first exploit to elite in xenobiotic-whateverness-ology. (that's a real word too, in the space chicktionary).

Also, will these chickens be formed with their own respirator hats? (Again, another word from the chicktionary, but it's a better fit than asking if you have a helmet on your chicken...).

Finally, will they be chicken sized chick-humans, or human sized chickens?

Apologies for all the questions, I am just voting for your chicken gun!

Since we'll be buying everything with our chickens anyway I'd vote for the human-sized chickens. But I'm sure they'll get nerfed down to Cornish Game Hens in Beta 2.

Respirators? Chickening a target on an ice world gives you a nice, freeze-dried packet of currency; in vacuum, they're preserved without a chance for their muscles to clench, which would make them tough and chewy.

Chickens are the perfect currency for a frontier economy, and the chicken gun insures that you can eat as much as you like without looking like a cannibal.

And roving gangs of bandits can tell you to "Just drop ten of those chickens and no one will get hurt", then haul them back home to their starving children.

Last time I answered this question with:

...and I’m fair chuffed that one of the weapons shown in the EDO trailer is about 66% of the first one 🙂

Excellent explanation mate, thank you. I was under the wrong impression that the gun turned them from hooman to chicken whilst keeping their mortal coils, hence my thinking about how they would fare as fowl. Without having a big helmet on your chicken anyway, especially as asphyxiation would cause you to end up with big swollen helmets on your otherwise purple chickens.

Ease of transportation aside, I agree that there will likely be a nerf. Otherwise the complaints about how many choked chickens you can carry with you will roll on in, if they are still human sized purple headed choking chickens. It will become a nightmare otherwise.

Thank you for helping address my chicken concerns.

Hey, I'm sure you could buy chicken suits so long as you had enough chickens. But like so much about the Odyssey Chickonomy, nothing has been confirmed yet.

I still am more interested in zero-g stuff than in any of this planetside malarkey, far more interesting to me as a big fan of a few VR experiences like Detached. So what I'd most like to see for the weapons is to have FA-off style physics applied to all use of handheld weapons during boarding actions and suchlike.
