Technically too complicated to put in the game ?
No? Frontier consider cosmetics in much the same way as the garbo considers your garbage bin. Means to an ends. I've never come across a developer so intent on bucking the trend that cosmetics are stunning and works of art because people actually pay for them. Frontier? Bits of concrete bolted to ships, ignorant of utility mounts and anything else; and paint jobs that are literally just swapping colours on the same template 3 times over.
How they can have such a pitifully low respect for what constitutes acceptable, I will never know. It's not that they can't. They just choose
not to. I've stopped buying any cosmetics at this point because frankly the developer doesn't seem to care in the slightest and why should I. Even crap sells, apparently. Just not to me.
Remember, all of these cosmetics are added to updates as they become available. Store purchase simply makes them available in game. If you're going to all the effort of bundling them anyway, why not do a proper job?
The ships are beautiful; the cosmetics are shockingly bad and Frontier legitimately should be ashamed. They do good work and then crap all over it. No idea why. And it just keeps happening. And these sorts of examples; illustrate how Frontier could actually offer community drawn works of art, that are fantastic (if they are struggling for time in-house) but also elect not to do that because we will ship you utter tat, and you will like it.
It's just bizarre. All of the examples here are really well done. And I've seen other work for other ships that's just as gorgeous.
