What are you doing in Elite?

Sitting here waiting for the servers to stop screwing up today. Other than that, finishing up getting Fed rep to finally have the ability to get the Corvette, which like the Cutter when I reached the rank, I never got, and probably won't be buying the 'vette either. Then I'll head back to Colonia, transfer more ships there and then get Elite in trading as I'm close...

fretting while my passengers languish in my Orca as i stare at adjudication error after adjudication error

Elite: Disconnected

Working towards my first Billion and first Elite rank (after 25 months and 600 hours) which i should complete by this weekend. After that im looking to join CGs again, if there are any good. Maybe a bit of Thargoid, ancient ruins and crash site hunting (only seen them in MC so far). Other than that, work towards re-engineering my Anaconda for combat.

Just finished up my part in one of the CG's as I got to my personal goal of 10K tons delivered.

Realized that my faction standings could be better with the groups around my home base so I am gathering up all the delivery missions I can find to increase my standings. This doesn't pay well as the missions are still all over the place in rewards but my type 7 can carry a lot of stuff so I can stack quiet a few.

I took my Python with Xeno Scanner and AX weapons to Pleiades nebula to test them out but found much less Non-Human USS since 2.4.02. However, found several over 1-3 million CR delivery missions bet Maia and Merope to help grind my Trade rank (now 89% Tycoon) until 2.4.03 hit last night and those missions dropped below a million [knocked out] So, I went to bed earlier ...

Not sure what to do now ... If the delivery missions don't go back up or the Non-Human USS don't spawn more, I might head to a barnacle site to look at green goo. Still not happy the barnacle sites in Merope disappeared like X files [alien]

"You probably heard we ain't in the prisoner-taken' business, we in the imperial-slave tradin' business. And cousin, business is a-boomin'."

I was wanting to say "killn' pirate business" but haven't done that in a while. It's been passengers, and human resourcing. I am a one-man HR department. ;)

Sitting in Dryaea Ail HR-R b45-3, not logged in since the 5th making my way very slowly to somwhere its about 25k Ly away I know that them maybe right to coloina, as Im just jumping and scanning the odd system of intrest the urge to log into the game is somwhat lacking at the moment.

As much as I love the game I do become very bored with it after a few days of playing.

Exploration has that effect on people. It's engaging right up until you realise it isn't, everything more or less looks the same, and there's actually no reason, at all, to step more than 400 LY out your own front door.

I think, finally, frontier might have grasped the thing that helps people stay engaged, is the experience, and rather than randomly screwing with the experience by proxy (endless buff/ nerf cycle), actually focus on delivering one. Should be great.

My ships aren't heavily engineered, but with the upcoming change to engineering I feel like devoting a significant chunk of time into engineering would be a waist.

i wouldnt be to trusty there

it could turn out that a randomly great roll comes lots faster as this rollgrinding allows you to (not talking about needed resources)

Spend two days seeking meta alloys in planet surface and realized that I wasted my time, because barnacles are deployed and they are selling in mara stations

Busy, busy, busy - need a holiday!

We've pushed a faction to the brink of war with our own faction, we already own the system but we want the secondary port too.

There's a couple of other systems where we need to do the same before we give any thought to expanding again.

So it will be all out war over the weekend I imagine as our corporation grabs total control from the dictatorship that had held this system.

The difference between them and us? If a famine or outbreak appears within a 100LY of our home systems we end it. Evacuate refugees, bring in supplies. That kinda thing. Last week we ended a famine and evacuated more than 1,000 refugees.

At the same time we've been working away at our 'end slavery' campaign. Just yesterday we closed a slave market in a system on our doorstep.

Got a group mining event on Saturday. Those are always fun.

Sunday is 'engineering day'. I can't decide if I'm gonna unlock Quent or Turner but it will be one of them.

In the background I'm also planning the way points for our Christmas expedition to Colonia - if anyone knows any cool planets en route that would make good base camps I'd be very grateful for the names! It's getting close now, setting off in December.

How can anyone possibly get bored of this game?!!!

As a human resourcing specialist, I find this deeply disturbing.

If a human player faction is involved we try to look the other way. Plenty of other people needing help without both sides throwing 1,000s of poor npc combat ships into a meat grinder.

Npc factions though? Fair game.

I wish you joy of your HR business nevertheless. o7

I find myself a bit torn. I want to play Elite, but I don't know what to do. My ships aren't heavily engineered, but with the upcoming change to engineering I feel like devoting a significant chunk of time into engineering would be a waist. I'd go back to grinding credits, but the mission payouts have been cut significantly. I don't feel like I should mess with Thargoids because I don't have strong ships, and even people with strong ships are saying it isn't worth the hassle.

Please give me some ideas, what are you doing?

Presently, I'm participating in the current Buckyball Race, Fat Tony's Festival of Racing. After that, not having much interest in combat, I'll be helping contribute to the defense of Humanity via the next few AEGIS CGs. My Patron back on Emerald has indicated her interest in these so-called Guardians, so I've got a short expedition in the works. Finally, I'll be helping a group of brave Freedom Fighters resist the Evil Galactic Federation. Not sure which group I'll ever helping, though, since there are so many to choose from.

Long term, after 2018, I'll be heading out into the black as part of the Distant Worlds 2 expedition.

Came to the conclusion that my Anaconda (used for mining) was in an absolutely shocking state. It can be owned by three Eagles. So decided to start Engineering it.

And that’s when I discovered that due to operator error I’d dumped all my MEF.

Swearing ensued.
