Being a total car guy and F1 fan (Forza Ferrari!) I would read this.

Thanks + rep.

Just finished the Far Side of the World for the third time.

Forgot how much the last quarter of the book drags along slowly.

Just got two Jack Reacher novels by Lincoln Child I was still missing from the library.

Still can't get over my head that
a) they cast Tom Cruise for Jack Reacher :O
b) that it worked [woah]

I can imagine having a small person play the role would have more impact. If he was six ft 6 and built like a brick s house I am sure he wouldn't get in to some of the situations he does.

If anything it is slightly more believeable because he is small, they don't expect him to be that tough.

Finished The Witchwood Crown a few weeks back, only to realise Book 2 isn't out for another ~7 months. Grrr. (Still haven't forgiven you either, Patrick Rothfuss!). So went back to read the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy-of-four (to which I didn't know The Witchwood Crown was a sequel). Backwards, but in a kind of Star Wars jumping-back-to-the-start kinda way.

I'm enjoying it a lot; I love big, complex, epic worlds; though it does feel a bit - I don't know - "vanilla" fantasy? Entertaining, well written, but few surprises or fresh takes. Then again, the original trilogy is now 30 years old, so they may have been ground-breaking when written!

After perusing the forum I came across this post two months ago, and couldn't delay any longer. After asking my twin BuletTrev to go searching his attic, in case he had my originals boxed away collect dust in the dark,... which resulted in a "no show".
I've justed ordered myself a Christmas present of all five books from Stephen Donaldsons, "the Gap" series. Which I first read back in 91. If anybody hasn't read them, your in for a fantastic sci-fi extravaganza that is so close to the ED universe that they will keep you turning the pages. Enjoying every minute spent swiping across your kindle app or Flipping pages.
I almost spent £45 on a signed first edition, but as the wife was sat close, I went with all five for £13.67.
Now I just gotta keep my eye open for the sorry you were out postcard and hope the dog doesn't eat/chew up the parcel.
