Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Hah!

Take that, enforcer!

My AR-50 is stronger than your dominator! You have no chance to survive make your time!
This probably looks like that:

Got some of my first proper runs in against a Titan heat core. I was able to do about about ~200,000 to ~450,000 combat bonds' worth of damage with each run after lobbing a torpedo down two to three vents each time. I reckon that I'll be able to get two million's worth with an evening or two of dedicated play. Practice should make it easier to run up bigger numbers.

At the end of my final run so far, I got absolutely wrecked after my thrusters stopped working properly and I slowed to crawl. I'm not shooting at turrets, Scouts or Interceptors and I'm keeping my heat below 20%, most of the time even below 10%, so I'm not sure what I'm doing to aggro them.

I've got 2 issue's now after the update, a solid minute of a black screen after starting the game and constant spamming over the comms about a nav beacon failure after scanning it, both pretty annoying.
Didn’t get the first one in todays session, though I think I saw maybe a couple of other people mention it else forum. As for the second not heard about that, but then it has been a long time since I saw a Nav beacon, but the number of discovered systems I am running into now means it shouldn’t be too long before I start to encounter them again.

If you keep hitting the Titan every other day for about a million a time you should be fine whenever the final week starts.

Lobbing deadly torpedoes at their momma / big sis might fit the bill...
And shooting at the pineapple surely won't dissuade them from shooting at him, either.
But I think he was wondering because it is said that below a certain temperature threshold, you are invisible for the tageting sensors.
From what I've heard, one (human or thargoid) might still be able to target manually.

If you get too close to a thargoid (think it's 500m) they start tracking you even if you're cold and the titan can start firing at you, the trick is to run in order to break the line of sight. once no tharg is tracking you anymore, you can take your time to repair (if you need to). Also even firing the heat vent laser at the titan makes the titan nervous and to step things up.

Yeah with the first titan down, the Thargoids are definitely a little more on edge than before.

Perhaps FDev have set them up like the ranks system and each one takes as much effort as all the ones before it, so Taranis was the Titan equivalent of Mostly Competent.
Would fit those hints that they doubt that we could get rid of all Titans...

I feel like we will get a system like that, paired with new Titans arriving every now and then, providing the chance to have several stages of invasion at once with their specific playstyle... Preferably with some added features along the ride, like more possibilities for the scientists among us to learn more about the Thargoids.

Didn't get the chance to play yesterday so just downloaded the patch.

What is odd, once the preparation and "manifest" (whatever that is) stages were over, is the actual speed of the patch delivery...

My connection is fast, but not that fast! :D

EDIT: Orange Sidewinder :/

Yeah I think it downloads the files and then unpacks them and that's the speed they are getting written to the drive, mine often does that, the first period seems to run the speed of my connection then it speeds up like crazy, happens with a few games I run.

5 CTD's since yesterday, still have the 60+ second black screen and on top of that I need to unplug my controller and plug it back in to get it to work.

Haven't had any, it's hard to diagnose a CTD, but often CTD's are a hardware issues so I would suggest looking at hardware to star with, maybe that controller that you keep having to unplug and plug back in, maybe the USB port?
