Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

All related to this, I just signed up for a power to get the pacifiers. I know I need 4 weeks, but haven't quite understood how to get merits yet. Is this power all combat or can you deliver supplies for the 750 merits?
You can pick up supplies at the Power's headquarters and deliver them to an appropriate system (either Fortification or Preparation, be sure you pick up the right materials for the system you're heading for). Wiki is pretty good for background --> https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Merits

20....not to or three, or 5, let alone 10, but TWENTY stacked mission....

Certifiably insane! :)

LOL, stacking up 100 missions and you will hear nothing but the sound of interdictors sucking you out.

Mission stacks of 20 work well though :D I did it on a Sothis/Ceos loop as well as the recent Empire grind:

I'm trying to figure out where I was supposed to go. I think it was related to an engineer, but I can't remember quite whom or where. Here are the clues I do remember, maybe someone of you can help figure it out:

Going from Khun, the distance was similar to Deciat.
Going from Khun, Nanomam was almost on the way.
Compared to Deciat, I the star was roughly in the 200:X:100 grid square, where I think is similar or slightly lower values than for Deciat.

Yep, just read that on a FAS topic on a similar issue.
Thanks for all the helpful replies.
Case closed.

Well not quite closed, but I did figure it out.
I now have my 3A fuel scoop working perfectly - 100% flow rate at a heat level that never rises above 65%. The problem originated, embarrassingly, way back in the early days of A-rating the Corvette and only caught up with me once I started engineering the modules and only manifested during scooping despite it being absolutely nothing to do with the fuel scoop, which is precisely the same one now as when the problem arose. I know people are going to thumb their noses at a small scoop on a large ship, but that's my preference and it now works brilliantly.
Cheers all.

I had a near disaster last night on my way back to the bubble. Firstly my route took me through a bunch of brown dwarfs, so I couldn't scoop for fuel, and I nearly ran out. Fortunately I was able to manually navigate to a main sequence star using the efficient route. Also while I was jumping between the said brown dwarfs all of my controls quit working right after I jumped into a system hurtling me right into the exclusion zone. I'm running the game in VR, and when I do this the PC puts the game into a window on my monitor. Apparently my PC chose this moment to start installing Windows updates, and it took the focus off the game window, thus freezing the in game controls. Fortunately I only took some minor heat damage, and I can still carry on. I do have AMFU so I can repair modules, but the damage is minimal and isn't impacting my ship's performance at all. But I will hit the first station I see when I get to the bubble to conduct repairs.

You know you can filter route by star type and include neutron stars? I'm heading back from SagA* and I thought I'd stop off in the Eagle nebula, sort of a pit stop. That way I don't need to do nearly as much continuous flying.

I'm taking my time doing some exploring along the way. And collecting some raw materials when the opportunity presents itself. I've gathered a lot of rare ones already.

This is the first time a route didn't automatically take me to a refueling star before I got too low on fuel.

Gory details in this thread:

Burned quickly through some painfully slow acquired mats, but I think it was a good choice. Got my first seriously engineered weapon, a class 4 multi-canon, G5 overcharged/corrosive. Goofed around earlier with 2x Grade 3 dual shot Frags/drag which was fun to see them working, but well... the MC is a serious piece.

I know you can't supercruise to another system, but can you supercruise towards a star that's just a bit too far to close the gap and allow you to jump to it?
No, I haven’t tried it but many people have tried and failed at this.

However if the reason the jump is out of range is mass related then it is possible that if you cruise long enough you will burn enough fuel mass to make the jump possible, this has happened to people who plot the jump before refuelling.

To the best of my knowledge, if you can see the star in your nav list, and lock target, then you can SC towards it.

Doesn't work, because what you're (visually) heading to is a fixed background Texture based on the position of your current System that was generated during your last Hyperjump (acts as loading screen).
All you can do is SuperCruise really, really far away from the Star(s) in your current System - but that's it.

But if you did reach the system you wouldn’t be able to interact with it or see anything as only the jump loads the new system.
Perhaps I misunderstood, if I am jumping into system xyz with say 3 stars and umpteen planets, then choose a resource ES 2,065 ls away, I supercruise there and do my thing, say I spend so much time there that I need to refuel, I was always under the impression that I can supercruise back to the star where I jumped into the system to begin with.
