If you haven't owned an Anaconda you should at least try one out for a while. It's just such a useful ship. It was my favorite for quite a while, just because I could load it up for multirole and do anything, while still having great jump range. And the next question to myself is "what one next?"![]()
But...once the FSD booster arrived and I could actually get reasonable jump range from my Corvette, then that became my mission ship, able to take on any mission that didn't go to an outpost. The 'vette is just such a beast, and handles so well, it's a blast to fly. Of course it's also really expensive and locked behind rep.
For exploration, I took the Annie out to the Zurara and had a wonderful time. It makes a great exploration ship, it can carry everything and jump forever. The only downside is that it's hard to see below you. I kinda like the view from the bridge of the Anaconda, especially in battle when you can see all the weapons firing, but on planets the view is rather restricted in the downwards direction
I'm at the 'bored with stuff' stage now, though, so I'm flying other ships for the fun of it. I do love the Krait MkII for exploration duties.
Still the Anaconda remains the tried and true "do everything" ship. I have 2 of them, still, one set for long range multi-role, and one for passengers. If I ever decide to do mining I'll probably refit one of those to test the waters.
So that's my recommendation. Every commander should have some hours in an Anaconda, it's just part of the fabric of ED.

In other news, I found this lovely ringed water world. It's quite a sight!
