Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

In Odyssey we can land on planets with very thin atmospheres, too. Not enough to produce any entry problems or heat build up. :) Makes the sky pretty.
Hope we can have atmospheric re-entry soon, glowing red hot vette/conda/cutter would be great to see.

If you drop into the ring away from any of the Resource Extraction Sites (RES) you should only get visited by representatives of the local pirate/police communities* just after your arrival, once they have checked you out and seen you have nothing but limpets they leave.

You won’t get another visit unless you leave the ring and return or log out and then back, when they visit this time you will have to fight or run assuming you have now got any cargo other than limpets.

* (usually the former occasionally the later sometimes both)
yeah, i was trying to mine the heck out of the place. lost a load of materials too it. but did managed to find gold ,silver an another phob****m ? something that took the sting out of my tail. 105k for 3 tons for the last commodity. but never saw a pirate in the last asteroid field at all, only in the rings res resources sites.

and getting back in watching asteroids separated is great movie.:)

That's not a T9.
That's a T10. The BattleCow. More engines, more guns, more armour. More agile and generally more better. ;)
Easily recognizable by the retro-thrusters, the spoiler and the amount of hurt it throws your way.
And the words T10 Defender in the box at the bottom left.

Don't dismiss the war cow variant of the T9 that shows up in Conflict zones they can be embarrassingly hard to kill and sometimes do an even more embarrassing amount of damage, the good thing about both is they are a nice big target.

🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ me sucks... didn't even looked at that box, was thinking that was a T9.... wondering why this "T9" is so hard to kill, and it almost burnt my shield....

Well, getting too excited to pewpew in new ships, good thing is its Monday now.....working hours cool me abit down...😒
It is always worth looking at that box as it lets you know the rank of the pilot and whether they are wanted or not.

The rank can be important as an Elite enemy can be a handful even in a lesser ship while a great ship can be fairly easy in the hands of a much lower ranked pilot.

Plenty of cool down around here at the moment, sub zero temperatures outside after very heavy snow yesterday.

So, the vette have 3 huge C7 optional slots. I have put a c7 bi-weave in it. I guess I'm supposed to put 2 C7 scb there for full combat build, but I'm now using a 7a PP (g1 OP) at moment, no spare juice for them. Should I put a c7 repair limpet there? .

But then, if i just left those c7 slots for cargo rack, that's a huge full armed cargo ship with 256T space!!!! on my~

And as said a few post b4, even with just 7D thruster, its already a pleasure to swing it around.. Can't wait for the A thruster!! (need do a few massacre missions).

In fact, I only focused on that line...an the other - "wanted" or not..... 🤦‍♀️ :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

For ship type, the target hollow usaully tell it all.

I don’t use SCBs so I have a size 7 shield, a 7B fuel scoop* and a size 5 module reinforcement I know it is a waste but there is nothing bigger I want to carry right now.

I don’t know there is any advantage to having 4 repair limpets out at once and you need a cargo hold as well as the controller, the well armed cargo passenger ship option is interesting.

Yes the 7A thrusters are fun.

* The 7B is almost as quick as the 7A but cheaper and slightly easier to find.

Wow, 7B scoop, your pool fill fast!

I actually used a c4 fuel tank instead, to squeeze out a few LY to jump.

This is the current state of the ship. Hold you laugh at the optionals!!

Not laughing at all.

I would swap the size 4 Module Reinforcement for a 5 and I was going to suggest a fighter bay for the empty 6 slot but that isn’t a good idea if you are trying to reach combat elite fast.

I dislike hanging around scooping when I don’t have to and don’t want to have to jump the extra mass of additional fuel.

Hmmm.... decide what you want to use the ship for. For an armed freighter that will not shy away from the occasional NPC pirate killing mission, the 7C bi-weaves are overkill, 6A with the boosters and a few Guardian boosters will be plenty, although not if you want to engage in multiple fights shortly after another. But that would leave you with 3x128 tons of cargo space (plus change, depending on what you want in the smaller slots). I'd recommend considering a decent NPC pilot and an SLF for any reasonably agile opponents, though.
For a combat ship, especially if you want to go into a CZ, I'd consider a larger (i.e. 8A)PP (especially since you already got the large distributor). Main guns are basically a matter of preference then.

Then again, for an armed freighter, the Cutter beats the 'vette hands down with 2x256 tons (plus change, I get 640 tons in total) cargo space. And only another Cutter can masslock you (while you can masslock everyone else). Turn rate and hardpoints make the Cutter only second best as a combat ship, though.

Except the c5 HRP & MRP, there rest are the largest I can find in storage. will get them correctly fitted soon, the 2 c7 slots for cargo racks. Except mamba, all other medium combat ships are grounded and contributing some modules to the big brother lulz.
