I can only think of one: Launch, then jettison (abandon) the cargo, switch to a medium ship, outfit it to carry the load and go do it over again.Do I have any other options?

Not long. I think about 2 or 3 minutes. How long does cargo hang around after being jettisoned before despawning? In theory, you could jettison then build a ship and then pick it back up - couldn't you? Mind you, I think you'd need to be quick.

Most of it despawned upon jettison (the sounds were spectacular)...mission was over right there...How long does cargo hang around after being jettisoned before despawning? I jettisoned it next to my carrier, so I could switch ships and then pick it back up, but...![]()
Well, thanks to those coffins floating around there (vampires confirmed?), you still were able to get the footfall...Not sure this place looks friendly, not with all these coffins floating about...:]

Too bad I'm a little late...Most of it despawned upon jettison (the sounds were spectacular)...mission was over right there...

I dropped a T9 full of stolen biowaste all over one of Starvation's megaships...it was spectacular...If you jettison more than about 10 then they tend to bang into each other and blow up. They also blow up if someone high-wakes in the instance - teabagging used to be eventful - not done it since I came back to the game though.
I don't think it works that way. If you change ship, the cargo will come with you, you can't leave a bunch of ships that have cargo in their hold behind, they'll be empty.I've been thinking of getting extra cargo capacity for the carrier by buying a whole bunch of T9s that I'll never fly anywhere, and load them all out with the maximum number of cargo racks, so each one has that ship's biggest capacity of (according to Wiki) 790 tons. So when the carrier hold is say, one T9 load short of full I can then bring back all that extra tritium in the shopping T9 to stuff into all the non-flying T9s holds.
Hmmm... Ok. I was wondering if there was a catch as I doubt I'm the first one to think of trying that.I don't think it works that way. If you change ship, the cargo will come with you, you can't leave a bunch of ships that have cargo in their hold behind, they'll be empty.
Some folks have alt accounts and use those. But it sounds like way more trouble than it'd be worth.Hmmm... Ok. I was wondering if there was a catch as I doubt I'm the first one to think of trying that.![]()
Ooh, that's good to know. It could come in handy sometimeIt surprised me, the stops that had extra stations, for instance CB-26 Passarola had a Ocellus Starport, Vladmir McDoogle's Triumph, and that had several thousand tons, so while many of the small stops had in the order of low double digits to the low hundreds, the larger stop with extra station often had thousands in stock so you could safely jump along using Trit from the tank a bit and topping up from the big stations along the way.
Hey, at least you tried. I would've just dumped it and moved on right away!I jettisoned it next to my carrier, so I could switch ships and then pick it back up, but...
You could always go auld Scottish* skool and set up an alt next time the sales are on, it would even give you a good reason to engineer suits and guns again.I did three T9 shuttle runs for tritium. That was more than enough before a diversion was needed
So I'll jjust be off for a little on-foot mission running before deciding on another trip into the black to do some gardening.
A question I keep asking myself: is it worth umpteen jumps to get somewhere and then almost immediately have a hankering to get back to the bubble? It's not as if you can just go back instantly and the 15-20 minute turnaround time for a carrier jump makes me grind my teeth
I suppose I could go all old skool and just use a ship... it would save on fuel.
It seems to be more echoey if your sound is optimised for nighttime. When did the COVAS go all "echo-ey" in the 'conda? I don't like it.
